Abstract
Each float (1) can communicate with the float nearest to it and at least one float includes a means for communication with a remote location. The communication means comprises a device for connecting to a mobile phone network in order to provide communicate via GPRS. - The system comprises two or more anchored bodies floating on the water surface and used to detect one or more environmental parameters. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for the floating body, which comprises a replaceable functional unit for carrying out most of the functionality of this body. This unit can be secured to the body by a slide-fit connection.
