Abstract
The control of woodchip quality for paper pulp protection involves the formation of low chip lengths (8). The control emanates from the sawn timber parameters, such as type of tree, whether it is frozen or not, the tree trunk diameter and/or the height of the half-moon-shaped sectors which are separated. These values are preferably processed in a computer, in which, possibly by interpolation, the chip length can be determined and adjusted.
