Abstract
FIELD: electrothermics; power supply to direct-heating resistance furnaces, such as graphitizing furnaces, and other heavy-current devices. SUBSTANCE: current lead for heavy-current electrothermal devices has carbon electrode and current-carrying metal bus joined to the former. Joint is made by means of additionally introduced electric contact plugs. Plugs are welded into carbon electrode by electric arc welding. Contact plugs are provided with expansion devices and opposing ends of the latter are joined to current-conducting metal bus. EFFECT: reduced electrical resistance at joint and reduced power requirement. 1 cl, 2 dwg
