But most housewives and professional cleaners prefer to wash the floor with rags, since the area covered by the rags is much larger than the brush. For fastening the rag, a rag holder is used, popularly called a “lazy person”.

The prototype of the “lazy dog” was an ordinary mop, through the shaft of which a rag was inserted, with a hole in the center. Many room cleaners still use this method of mopping.

The disadvantage of this device is the lack of fixation of the rag on the squeegee, because of which it has to be periodically corrected.

The rag-holder “lazy dog” consists of a shaft, most often made of a thin-walled metal tube, and a cross member rigidly fixed to the end of the shaft, as well as a rag clamping device.

The clamping device has a wire frame into which a rag is inserted and a lever connected to the frame, pivotally mounted on the shaft. To press the rags to the bottom surface of the cross member having a recess, it is necessary to turn and snap the lever towards the shaft.

The disadvantage of such a rag holder may include some inconvenience of securing the rags. It is necessary to drag it through a narrow gap formed between the frame and the cross-member, and straighten it there.

Another disadvantage of the “lazy person” is the openness of the ends of the cross member, which leads to possible damage to the furniture.

And the most significant drawback of the “lazy dog” design is the limited width of the frame due to which the standard rag has to be folded in several layers, thereby limiting the coverage area.

A prototype of the proposed utility model has been successfully tested.

The rag is easily and quickly attached to the rag holder, hangs on all sides from the cross member and protects the furniture from damage during

The listed advantages of the rag holder create the prerequisites for increasing the productivity of professional cleaners and housewives.

A rag holder for washing a floor, comprising a shaft with a cross member and a clamping device, characterized in that in order to increase the efficiency and convenience of washing the floor, the clamping device is located on top of the cross member with the possibility of securing a rag having an opening for passing through the shaft. 2. The rag holder according to claim 1, characterized in that the clamping device is made in the form of a removable sleeve with two symmetrically arranged presser legs and a screw for fixing on the shaft in the position of clamping the rags on the lodgement of the cross member.
