Description

The invention relates to sanitary and hygienic equipment for baths and is intended to improve the comfort of use by people with musculoskeletal disorders.

A big problem for the elderly and people with musculoskeletal disorders is entering and exiting the bath during hygiene procedures.

For these purposes, various devices are used, for example, a handrail for a bathtub RU 2247527 C2 from 2005.03.10, consisting of a support handle and a fastening unit with a movable and fixed part. Moreover, the fixed part is fixed to the outer edge of the bathtub, and the movable part of the unit with the support handle is made folding, with the possibility of completely freeing the internal volume of the bathtub.

This device makes it much easier for people with musculoskeletal disorders to perform hygienic procedures, but it does not solve the problem of moving the legs from the supporting surface of the floor into the bathtub, and it is this process that causes the main difficulties when getting into and out of the bathtub.

Various designs of bathtub step stools, including those equipped with handrails, are widely known and available to the public.

For example, MediQ 10222H or Barry 10223H, taken as a prototype, and consisting of a rigid base with two steps and an arched handrail.

The presence of two steps makes the process of entering the bath much easier, but the process of exiting it is also a problem for the elderly and disabled, as it requires raising the leg to a considerable height, and the person is on a slippery surface inside the bath.

Another disadvantage is that the step treads take up a significant amount of space in the bathroom.

The purpose of the proposed invention is to improve the functionality and ensure ease of use of a folding bathtub drain.

The technical result of the claimed invention is the creation of a folding portable ladder, which makes it easier not only to enter the bath, but also to exit it.

At the same time, this design has minimal dimensions for storage in a limited space.

This technical result is achieved by the fact that the folding bathtub ladder contains molded plastic steps with anti-slip inserts and two metal U-shaped handrails with support heels.

In this case, the three outer steps are made in the form of a monoblock, in the side openings of which the front handrail posts are installed with the possibility of rotation around the vertical axis, and two additional steps are installed on the rear handrail posts with the possibility of their longitudinal sliding along the entire length of the handrails.

Two additional steps are fixed together using socket-and-ledge type side stops.

This is how the idea of a folding ladder with handrails for a bathtub, equipped with both external and retractable internal steps, is realized.

The essence of the invention is explained by drawings, where Fig. 1 shows a folding ladder in the working position, a side view, a cross-section A-A along the steps, a view B from inside the bath and a callout B of the connection of the internal steps between themselves.

Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of the ladder in a folded position for storage, in a position of installation on a bathtub with the internal steps retracted, and in a position with the internal steps lowered into the bathtub for entering and exiting it.

The folding bath ladder consists of a monolithic plastic cabinet 1 in the form of three steps, two U-shaped metal handrails 2 made of high-strength stainless steel pipe, rubber support tips 3 placed on the ends of the handrail posts, an internal lower 4 and an internal upper 5 step.

The handrail posts have different heights. The long handrail posts are threaded through the vertical side openings of the steps of the pedestal 1. The handrails 2 can be rotated in the vertical plane relative to the pedestal 1.

The upper 5 and lower 4 internal steps also have side openings, by which they are put on the short posts of the handrails. In this case, steps 4 and 5 have the ability to move separately from each other along the arcuate surfaces of the handrails 2.

In addition, the lower step 4 has two holes on the sides, into which two projections of the upper step 5 enter, interlocking with each other and forming a rigid structure.

To prevent injury to the foot when it is on step 4, the upper end of the centering protrusions of step 5 is provided with plugs 6.

The support tips 3 simultaneously act as limiters of the upward movement of the handrails and ensure the unity of the structure.

The folding bath drain is used as follows:

In the storage position, steps 4 and 5 are located above the pedestal 1 in the “upside down” position on the same axes as the long posts of the handrails 2. In this case, the handrails themselves are turned in a vertical plane with an overlap back to form a minimum width dimension (see Fig. 2).

When installed on a bathtub, the handrails are turned with the short posts forward, parallel to each other and perpendicular to the steps of the cabinet. In this position, the drain is installed on the bathtub.

Then, step 4, and then step 5, slides down into the bathtub, sliding along the handrails. The projections at the bottom of step 5 enter the holes in step 4, thus forming a geometrically unchangeable structure.

Next, the user climbs the steps, holding onto the handrails, and enters the bathtub.

Before taking water procedures, if necessary, steps 4 and 5 are brought out to the outside of the bath, taking their original position.

Before exiting the bath, these steps are lowered back into the bath.

After completing the hygiene procedures, the folding ladder is removed from the bath and moved to the storage position.

This folding ladder has a minimum of parts, can be assembled without tools, is reliable and simple in design.

It can be used both at home and when caring for the elderly and disabled in medical institutions.

The approximate weight of the product is no more than 4 kg.

A folding bathtub ladder comprising molded plastic steps with anti-slip inserts and two metal U-shaped handrails with support heels, characterized in that the three outer steps are made in the form of a monoblock, in the side openings of which the front handrail posts are installed with the ability to rotate around a vertical axis, and two additional steps are installed on the rear handrail posts with the ability to slide longitudinally along the entire length of the handrails. 2.
