Предупреждение преждевременного старения и восстановление структуры кожи и мышц шейно-лицевой области является актуальной косметологической и общемедицинской проблемой. Возросшая обращаемость населения к косметологам с целью коррекции возрастных изменений, проявляющихся на лице и шее, обусловлена прежде всего причинами эстетического характера. Состояние кожных покровов шейно-лицевой области служит достаточно информативной характеристикой общего состояния организма и корреспондируется с биологическим возрастом человека. На состояние мимической мускулатуры и сопряженных с ней изменений функционального состояния кожи лица влияет множество факторов эндо- и экзогенного характера. Косметические дефекты того или иного генеза могут вызывать повышенное внимание самого субъекта и окружающих, что, в свою очередь, может негативно отражаться на общем эмоциональном фоне, поведенческих реакциях и работоспособности. У людей с выраженными косметическими дефектами возрастает вероятность развития социальной дезадаптации и ее проявлений в виде психосоматических расстройств.
