Abstract

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: mouth dilator has frame flattened in vertical plane and curved in horizontal plane, hooks attached to frame upper part and adapted for gripping upper jaw, lower jaw separating and fixing mechanism arranged below frame and made in the form of flat casing with stop latch. Movable flat handle located in casing is equipped with blade at its upper end and hook at its lower end. Loops are fixed at both sides of frame. Lip separating members made in the form of rods with flat hooks are inserted into loops. Dilator has following main geometric ratios: R=0.8H; K=1.2H; L= 2.2H, where R is radius of frame, K is length of casing, L is length of frame. Frame is made in the form of closed strip. Flat hooks are adapted for separating pharyngeal tissues. Rods are equipped with threaded surfaces and winged nuts. Dilator of such construction may be used for performing surgical operations, as well as in the case of necessity of surgical intervention in mouth cavity.
