Способ сжигания низкосортного, предпочтительно водоугольного, топлива, включающий подачу его в топочное пространство с распылением в вихревом факеле и сжиганием над слоем горящего топлива при подаче двух потоков нагретого до 100-200°С дутьевого воздуха, один из которых подают в указанный факел с избытком воздуха, а другой - в слой горящего топлива, отличающийся тем, что сжигание в слое горящего топлива осуществляют в тепловом режиме с образованием продуктов сгорания в виде Н2О и СО2 или тепловом режиме с газификацией с образованием продуктов сгорания в виде Н2О, CO2, H2 и СО, в вихревой факел подают часть указанного водоугольного топлива, слой горящего топлива образуют в виде низкотемпературного кипящего слоя инертного материала, в который через форсунки совместно с частью дутьевого воздуха подают другую часть указанного водоугольного топлива, при этом часть водоугольного топлива, подаваемого на сжигание в низкотемпературный кипящий слой, составляет 15-35% от общего расхода водоугольного топлива. ! 2.
