[0001] The present invention relates to a device for applying (applying) a disinfectant, especially to sanitary devices. More precisely, the invention relates to a device for applying a tablet or ball for disinfection with adhesive characteristics that allow it to remain attached to the inner wall of a sanitary device or the like.

[0002] As is known, adhesive balls or tablets for disinfection are used to disinfect the sanitary device, which can be applied inside the sanitary device so that they are covered by the flow of water that washes the sanitary device, so that the detergent product of which they are composed is gradually released.

[0003] If the disinfection tablets are to be applied inside the sanitary device, there are known devices for their application that allow avoiding touching the tablet or capsule with hands and applying them inside the sanitary device.

[0004] WO2013 / 054124 discloses an applicator for applying a dose of a treatment composition to the surface of sanitary ceramics.

[0005] US 4701168 discloses a disposable applicator having a frangible housing that can effectively maintain a sterile antiseptic storage environment prior to bursting.

[0006] WO2014072677 discloses a device for applying a disinfectant tablet to a sanitary device or the like, comprising a blister package defining a base portion with a cavity adapted to contain a disinfectant product (tablet or capsule), and comprising one or more flexible arms connected to the base portion.

[0007] In the initial configuration, the arms extend outwardly and are usually coplanar with the base, and in a second, subsequent operational configuration, the arms are folded back relative to the base and into the disinfectant housing cavity, so that at least one portion of the arms extends beyond the opening of the cavity.

[0008] The folding lines allow the arms to bend and therefore act as inflection points.

[0009] Given that the blister pack is folded lines that define the above-mentioned folding points, there is a disadvantage due to the fact that in the initial step of the upward movement of the folding arms, it is not possible to make the initial push for the capsule or tablet to come out of the blister, nor is there a retention mechanism that can prevent the capsule from falling out of the cavity in which it is placed.

[0010] The aim of the present invention is to provide a device for the application of disinfectants, especially for a sanitary device, which allows already in the initial step in which the user grabs the device by hand to perform the pushing action so that at least the tablet or capsule comes out of the blister pack.

[0011] Within this objective, the object of this invention is to provide a device for the application of disinfectants which, when the device is grasped by hand, prevents the disinfectant product from falling out of the cavity in which it is placed, before the device is applied to the wall sanitary device, even though the user performs the initial pushing action.

[0012] The next objective of the present invention is to provide a device for applying disinfectants, especially for sanitary devices and the like, which has a structure of a highly ergonomic shape, so as to facilitate the use of the device for users.

[0013] The next objective of the present invention is to provide a device for the application of disinfectants that is highly reliable, easily and practically applicable and economically advantageous.

[0014] This goal and these and other items that will become clearer in the following text are achieved by a device for applying a disinfectant, especially for sanitary devices, as defined in the attached independent claim 1.

[0015] Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of the device according to the subject invention, which is illustrated by a non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings in which:

Figure 3 is a perspective view of the procedure of using the device for application according to the present invention.

[0016] Referring to the figures, the device for application according to the invention, which is generally designated by the reference number 1, contains a blister pack 20 which on the other hand contains an essentially central cavity 2 which is adapted to contain a product 3 for disinfection and defines a protrusion on the other side of the blister pack from the cavity.

[0017] The blister pack 20 further includes an element 4 for capturing, placed laterally in relation to the central protrusion 2, which defines a cavity adapted to accommodate the product 3 for disinfection, wherein the given elements 4 for capturing consist of cavities defined on the same side of the blister 20 to which the cavity for placing the disinfectant is turned.

[0018] Such cavities also define, on the other side of the blister pack 20, a pair of lateral protrusions 4a which are preferably arranged in axial alignment with the central protrusion 2a.

[0019] The cavities 4 are adapted to receive the user's fingers internally, as is better shown in Figure 3.

[0020] Namely, the side protrusions 4a are defined in the side part of the blister pack 20 in relation to the cavity 2 for housing the disinfection product.

[0021] The cavity 2 for housing the product 3 for disinfection is partially covered with a protective film 5, which is applied to the blister pack 20 in which the cavity 2 is defined.

[0022] The film 5 slightly protrudes into the cavity 2, with wings 10, so that it prevents the disinfection product 3 from falling out of the cavity 2 when the user grasps the device by inserting his fingers into the gripping elements 4 or cavities.

[0023] The disinfection product 3 is then protected by an additional adhesive film 7, which is placed so as to completely cover the cavity 2, so as to enable the protection of the disinfection product 3 in the blister pack 20 which is therefore completely closed.

[0024] Conveniently, the cavity 2, and in particular the outer surface of the cavity 2, i.e. the surface of the protrusion 2a, has a central edge 6 or folding line, which favors the initial pushing action after the user grasps the device and bends it as in Figure 3.

[0025] It is convenient that the cavity 2 is further placed, again on the outer surface of the cavity (the surface of the central protrusion 2a), with support elements that are composed of at least one, and preferably of a pair of additional protrusions 8, distributed laterally on the central edge 6 that defines the overlapping line.

[0026] A pair of protrusions 8 of the central protrusion 2a is adapted to be engaged when the user grasps the device 1 by inserting the fingers into the cavities 4, wherein the protrusions 4a are defined by the cavities 4.

[0027] Basically, the operation of the device according to the invention is as follows.

[0028] The operator first removes the adhesive film 7 so as to expose the disinfectant 3, although it is retained inside the cavity 2 by the wings 10 of the protective film 5.

[0029] At this moment, the user, by inserting his fingers into the cavities 4 defined on the sides of the central cavity 2 for housing the means 3 for disinfection, performs the first folding of the blister 2, without the help of any folding line, because the blister pack is completely without the aforementioned folding lines on the part of the blister near the central cavity 2 for housing the product 3 for disinfection.

[0030] Partial initial folding backwards, ie. towards the back of the cavity 2 (therefore on the side of the central protrusion 2a and the side protrusions 4a), it starts to exert a first push thanks to the fact that the overlapping line 6 defined in the central cavity 2 ensures that such a cavity is acted upon by the pushing action of the means 3 for disinfection. The pressing of the disinfectant 3 is done by the edge or folding line 6 which presses down the disinfectant product 3, then when the user starts to bend the blister back.

[0031] This initial pushing action does not allow the disinfection product 3 to exit the central cavity 2, partly because the product 3 is retained in the cavity 2 by the wings 10, and only allows the product 3 to slightly protrude from the cavities 2, thus allowing the user to stick it to the sanitary device.

[0032] At this moment, the user can therefore make the disinfectant 3, which is now exposed, stick to the inner wall 12 of the sanitary device or the like, by additionally bending the blister pack 20 backwards, with the effect that the protrusions 8 will interact with the protrusion 4a so that they exert a pushing action on the protrusion 4a and consequently the effect of expelling the disinfectant 3, which due to its adhesive properties remains attached to the inner wall 12 sanitary device.

[0033] The device described above enables the ejection of the disinfectant 3, while simultaneously avoiding touching the internal walls of the sanitary device with hands, and also simultaneously avoiding the presence of fold lines on the flat part of the corresponding blister pack, which would prevent the effect of pushing on the disinfectant 3 in the initial step in which the user grabs the blister pack 2 and performs the first bending of the side parts of the blister pack upwards and towards the back of the cavities 2.

[0034] The presence of protrusions 8 on the surface of the central protrusion 2a enables an effective pushing action by pressing with the fingers inside the cavities 4 defined by the protrusions 4a which are arranged laterally with respect to the central protrusion 2a, so that the user can easily make the disinfectant 3 protrude from the corresponding cavity 2 for accommodation.

[0035] In practice, it has been determined that the device according to the subject invention fully achieves the set goal and objects, by enabling the simple application of the disinfectant on the surface or the inner wall of the sanitary device, without touching the wall of the sanitary device with hands, and by exerting the effect of pressure already in the initial step in which the user grabs the device and bends upwards, and therefore towards the rear part, blister pack 20 by inserting fingers into cavities 4.

[0036] The device conceived in this way is subject to numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the attached requirements.

[0037] In practice, the materials used and the possible dimensions and shapes can be any in accordance with the requirements and according to the state of the art.

Claims (7)

Patent claims 1. A device (1) for the application of a disinfectant, especially for a sanitary device, containing a blister pack (20) defining a cavity (2) adapted to accommodate a disinfectant (3), wherein said blister pack (20) consists of a gripping element (4) adapted to enable the user's fingers to be inserted into the given gripping elements and enable the blister (20) to be folded and the blister disinfectant (20) ejected by pointing at the supports (8) in order to eject of a given disinfectant (3), folding the blister package (20), before the gripping element (4) rests on the supports (8), which allows partial exposure of the disinfectant from said cavity (2), characterized in that the cavity (2) is adapted to accept the disinfectant product partially blocked by a film (5) that defines the support wings (10) for the disinfectant product (3) in order to prevent the disinfectant from falling out of the cavities (2). 2. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the gripping elements (4) comprise a pair of cavities (4) defining projections (4a) in a given blister pack (20). 3. A device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said cavity (2) defines a protrusion (2a) on its outer surface with a folding line (6), so that it allows the pushing action to be carried out already in the initial step in which the user grasps the device and performs bending on the given device 4. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the supports (8) are defined on the outer surface of the protrusion (2a), wherein said supports are adapted to come into contact with the given pair of protrusions (4a) defined by the cavities (4), in order to exert pressure on the given disinfection product (3) in order to eject the disinfectant product from the given cavity (2). 5. A device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said cavity (2) for housing a given (3) disinfectant is completely blocked by an additional adhesive film (7). 6. A device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said means (4) for capturing are placed in axial alignment with the cavity (2) for housing a given disinfectant. 7. A device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said gripping elements (4), placed laterally in relation to the cavity (2) for housing the given means (3) for disinfection, are shaped so that they can receive the user's fingers.
