[0001] This invention relates to packaging for the storage of goods, especially stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like, according to the preamble of patent claim 1. Furthermore, this invention relates to a cutout for the production of packaging for the storage of goods, especially stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like, according to the preamble of patent claim 3.

[0002] A wide range of such packaging is known. In particular, these packages are folding boxes, which are a widely used form of packaging for cigarettes and the like. Thus, DE 69418258 T2 and DE 10106549 A1 describe such packages in the form of a prismatic body along its longitudinal axis, wherein the cover is hingedly connected to the receiving space like a container. These packagings include, in the usual way, a so-called flange or an inner frame ("Inner Frame"), which is formed as a separate element and is introduced into the receiving area of the packaging. The flange is partially protruded outside the packaging and has a gripping and visual recess formed at the edge on the front side of the flange, which partially coincides with the front side of the receiving space.

[0003] From EP 1712491 A2, packaging and cutouts are known which include the characteristics of the preamble of patent claims 1 and 3. Similar packaging and cutouts are known from EP 2740682 A2, DE 2334190 A1 and EP 1837293 A1.

[0004] However, the disadvantage of these known packagings is that, on the one hand, at least two elements are required for their production, so the process of their production is relatively long-lasting. On the other hand, placing the flange divides the front side of the receiving area like the packaging container, namely part of the so-called outer surface, into two different areas, namely the front area of the actual packaging, i.e. the receiving area like the container and the front area of the flange, which limits the possibilities of printing variations of these surfaces. Also, this reduces the available external surfaces of the receiving area of the packaging.

[0005] Therefore, the aim of the present invention is to provide generic packaging, which provides improved external surfaces and enables a shorter duration of the packaging manufacturing process.

[0006] A further aim of the present invention is to provide a generic blank for the production of packaging, which provides improved outer surfaces and enables a shorter duration of the packaging production process.

[0007] In order to achieve these goals, packaging with characteristics according to patent claim 1 as well as a cut with characteristics according to patent claim 3 is provided. Advantageous examples of packaging according to this invention and cut according to this invention are described in the corresponding dependent patent claims. Favorable packaging solutions should be seen as favorable examples of cutting and vice versa.

[0008] The first aspect of this invention relates to packaging for storing goods, especially stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like, including the front wall and the back wall, the side walls that connect the front and back walls as well as the floor structure and the cover structure, wherein the cover structure is hinged to the end of the back wall that is opposite the floor structure. The front wall includes at least one gripping and visual indentation formed edgewise at the end opposite the floor structure, wherein the gripping and visual indentation is at least partially covered by the front wall of the cover structure in the closed state of the packaging. By forming a gripping and visual recess in the front wall of the packaging, a separate flange or inner frame can be omitted. In this way, it is advantageously ensured that the packaging is made from a one-piece cut. In addition to saving time in the production process, there is also a saving of materials, since the overlapping surfaces that exist in known packaging between the existing packaging and the flange are especially eliminated. Depending on the type of packaging, between 5 and 10% of material can be saved here. Furthermore, the front wall now forms a continuous surface, so there is more opportunity for variation when printing on these surfaces. Furthermore, in the case of the packaging according to this invention, the front wall is formed in such a way that at least one blocking means is provided in the area of the gripping and visual opening for blocking the cover structure on the front wall in the closed state of the packaging. In this way, a secure closure of the packaging is ensured. The blocking means is thus formed as a blocking flap, wherein the blocking flap is formed by a slot, and the slot is formed extending from the front wall across the fold line between the front wall and the side wall further into the side wall and from the side wall back in the direction of the fold line. This has the effect of projecting the locking flap laterally from the front wall and holding the lid structure by frictional resistance when the lid structure is closed. In this way, a secure closure of the packaging is ensured. The packaging according to the present invention can be used to store a wide range of goods. In addition to stick-shaped goods, goods of different shapes or loose goods can be used.

[0009] The packaging according to this invention also includes at least one side wall that connects the front and back walls, which is formed so that, in the closed state of the packaging, the inner side of the lid element that forms the end of the lid construction rests on the end of the side wall that is opposite the floor structure, wherein the edge that forms the end of the side wall rests completely on the lid element in the closed state of the packaging. The side wall configured in this way advantageously takes over the supporting and stopping function, which is usually provided by a separate flange in such packaging, for the construction of the packaging cover.

[0011] Another aspect of the present invention relates to a cutout for manufacturing packaging for storing goods, especially stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like, including a front wall and a back wall, wherein the front wall is connected to the corresponding side walls via bending lines. The cutout also includes a floor structure and a cover structure, the cover structure being hinged to the rear wall via a fold line. The cutout is formed in one piece. Also, the front wall includes at least one gripping and visual recess formed at the edge at the end opposite the floor structure. Due to the construction of the gripping and visual recess in the front wall, the specially formed flange, i.e. the inner frame, can be omitted in the production of the packaging. It is advantageous that the packaging can be made from a one-piece cut, so that there is a significant saving of time in the production of the packaging.

Also, the front wall is formed continuously in this way, so the overall result is a larger front wall area. This results in significantly improved front wall printing variation capabilities. Also, in the cutout of the present invention at least one blocking flap is formed by means of a slot, wherein the slot is formed by extending from the front wall across the fold line between the front wall and the side wall further into the side wall and again from the side wall back in the direction of the fold line. When the cutout is folded, the blocking flaps extend from the side wall or the front wall of the packaging. When the packaging is closed at least one locking flap then rests on the corresponding inner side of the lid structure and is held by frictional resistance. This ensures a secure closure of the packaging. The blank according to the present invention can be used to produce packaging used to store a wide range of goods. In addition to stick-shaped goods, goods of different shapes or bulk products can also be stored.

[0012] The cutout according to this invention also includes at least one side wall connected to the front wall, which is constructed so that, in the folded state of the cutout and in the closed state of the packaging, the inner side of the lid element that forms the end of the lid structure rests on the end of the side wall that is opposite the floor structure, wherein the edge that forms the end of the side wall rests completely on the lid element in the closed state of the packaging. [0016] Fig.1 shows a schematic side view of packaging 10 for storing goods in an open state. The packaging 10 serves especially for the storage of stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like. It can be seen that the packaging 10 includes a front wall 12 and a back wall 14, side walls 16, 18 connecting the front and back walls 12, 14 as well as a floor structure 20 to form a receiving space 108 like a container. Further, the packaging 10 includes a lid structure 22 for closing the receiving space 108. Thus, the lid structure 22 is hingedly connected to the front wall 12 of the back wall 14 via the bending line 72 in the upper part, i.e. the floor structure 20 at the opposite end is connected to the open upper end of the receiving space 108. Furthermore, it can be seen that the packaging 10 is made in the form of a prismatic body. In the example shown, the packaging 10 is made in the shape of a square. Other forms are also possible.

[0017] It can be seen that the front wall 12 includes a grasping and visual recess 26 formed edgewise at the end 24 which is opposite the floor structure 20, whereby the grasping and visual recess 26 is covered by the front wall 28 of the structure 22 of the lid in the closed state of the packaging 10 (see Fig.2). The side walls 16, 18 in the shown example of execution are made in such a way that, in the closed state of the packaging 10, the inner side of the upper wall 30, which forms the end of the structure 22 of the lid, i.e. the glued flaps 46, 48 attached to the upper wall 30, rests on the end 34 of the side wall 16, 18 which is opposite the floor structure 20. It can be seen that the edges that form the ends 34 of the side walls 16, 18 completely lie on the corresponding inner sides of the structure 22 of the lid in the closed state of the packaging 10.

The structure 22 of the lid includes in the illustrated embodiment the front wall 28, the upper wall 30 and the back wall 32. The mentioned elements form the structure 22 of the lid with the side walls 42, 44, reinforcing flaps 36, 38, 40 and glued flaps 46, 48.

[0018] Furthermore, it can be seen that the front wall 12 includes in the area of the gripping and visual opening 26 two blocking means 52 for blocking the structure 22 of the cover on the front wall 14 in the closed state of the packaging 10. The blocking means 52 are made as blocking flaps 56, 58, wherein the blocking flaps 56, 58 spring from the front wall 12 of the side walls 16, respectively 18. In addition, it can be seen that the blocking flaps 56, 58 are formed by respective slots 54, the slots 54 each being formed starting from the side wall 12 across the lines 96, 98 of the fold between the front wall 12 and the side walls 16, 18 further into the side walls 16, 18 and again from the side walls 16, 18 back in the direction of the respective lines 96, 98 bending.

Fig.2 shows a schematic side view of the packaging 10 of Fig.1 in the closed state. It can be seen that the front wall 28 of the cover structure 22 completely covers the grasping and visual recess 26 that is formed in the front wall 12. With the blocking means 52 (see Fig. 1), the cover structure 22 is firmly held on the package 10.

[0020] Fig. 3 shows a schematic layout of cutouts 110 for the production of packaging 10 for storing goods, especially stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like. The cutout 110 thus comprises a front wall 12 and a rear wall 14, the front wall 12 being connected to the respective side walls 16, 18 via fold lines 96, 98. Furthermore, the cutout 110 includes the floor structure 20 and the cover structure 22, wherein the cover structure 22 is hingedly connected to the rear wall 14 via the bending line 72. It can be seen that the cut-out 110 is integrally formed and the front wall 12 includes a gripping and visual recess 26 edge-formed at the end 24 opposite the floor structure 20. It is further seen that the rear wall 14 is connected to the respective side reinforcing flaps 60, 62 via fold lines 100, 102. The side reinforcing flaps 60, 62 are further connected to the glued flaps 64, 66 via fold lines 92, 94, the glued flaps 64, 66 being separated from the side walls 16, 18 by respective cut lines 112. The cut lines 112 are also formed relative to the bottom wall 50 of the floor structure 20. The bottom wall 50 is again connected via fold lines 68, 70 to the front and rear walls 12, 14. Further, it can be seen that the cutout 110 for forming the cover structure 22 includes the front wall 28, the top wall 30 and the rear wall 32, which are interconnected via fold lines 74, 76. The back wall 32 of the cover structure 22 is therefore connected via the fold line 72 to the front wall 14. Further, the cover structure 22 includes side walls 42, 44, reinforcing flaps 36, 38, 40 as well as glued flaps 46, 48, which are via the corresponding fold lines 80, 82, 84, 86, 104, 106 interconnected, that is, with the front wall 28, the upper wall 30 as well as the rear wall 32 of the floor structure 20. Furthermore, the cutting lines 114 for partial separation of the glued flaps 46, 48 are formed between the side walls 42, 44 and the upper wall 30. The reinforcing flap 40 is connected to the front wall 28 via the line 78 of bending. Folding and folding of the cover structure 22 is performed in a usual and known way. It can further be seen that the side reinforcing flaps 60, 62 are separated from the reinforcing flaps 36, 38 of the cover structure 22 via the cut lines 88, 90.

[0021] Altogether, the front wall 12, the bottom wall 50, the back wall 14 as well as the side walls 16, 18, 60, 62 as well as the glued flaps 64, 66 form a receiving space 108 like a container in the folded state of the cutout 110 (also, see Fig.1).

In addition, the corresponding blocking flaps 56, 58 are formed or defined, in each case, by slots 54. Due to the construction of the front wall 12 as well as the side walls 16, 18, a specially formed flange or inner frame ("Inner Frame") can be omitted in the production of packaging 10.

[0024] The described packaging 10, as well as the cutout 110 for the production of the described packaging 10, is usually made of cardboard, paper or plastic. Other suitable materials are also possible.

Claims (4)

Patent claims 1. Packaging for storing goods, especially stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like, which includes a front wall (12) and a rear wall (14), side walls (16, 18) connecting the front and rear walls (12, 14) as well as a floor structure (20) and a lid structure (22), wherein the lid structure (22) is hinged to the end of the rear wall (14) which is opposite the floor structure (20), wherein the front wall (12) includes at least one grasping and visual recess (26) edge-formed at the end (24) opposite the floor structure (20), where the grasping and visual recess (26) is at least partially covered by the front wall (28) of the structure (22) of the cover in the closed state of the packaging (10), and the front wall (12) includes in the area of the grasping and visual opening (26) at least one blocking means (52) for blocking construction (22) of the cover on the front wall (12) in the closed state of the packaging (10) with the front wall (28), and that blocking means (52) is made as blocking flaps (56, 58), wherein the blocking flaps (56, 58) are formed by means of a slot (54), and the slot (54) is formed by extending starting from the front wall (12) over the line (96, 98) of bending between the front wall (12) and the side wall (16, 18) further into the side wall (16, 18) and again from the side wall (16, 18) back in the direction of the line (96, 98) of bending, significant time, that at least one side wall (16, 18) is formed so that in the closed state of the packaging (10) the inner side of the element (30, 46, 48) of the cover which forms the end of the construction (22) of the cover rests on the end (34) of the side wall (16, 18) which is opposite the floor structure (20), whereby the edge forming the end (34) of the side wall (16, 18) rests completely on the element (30, 46, 48) of the cover in the closed state of the packaging (10). 2. Packaging according to requirement 1, specified time, which is packaging (10) made of paper, cardboard or plastic. 3. Cut-out for the production of packaging (10) for storing goods, especially stick-shaped goods such as cigarettes and the like, including a front wall (12) and a back wall (14), wherein the front wall (12) is connected to the corresponding side walls (16, 18) via bending lines (96, 98), as well as a floor structure (20) and a lid structure (22), wherein the lid structure (22) is hinged via a line (72) folds with the rear wall (14), and the cutout (110) is integrally formed and the front wall (12) includes at least one engaging and visual recess (26) edge-formed at the end (24) opposite the floor structure (20), wherein at least one blocking flap (56, 58) is formed by the slot (54), and the slot (54) is formed by extending from the front wall (12) over the line (96, 98) bending between the front wall (12) and the side wall (16, 18) further into the side wall (16, 18) and again from the side wall (16, 18) back in the direction of the line (96, 98) of bending, time, that at least one side wall (16, 18) is formed so that, in the folded state of the cutout (110) and in the closed state of the packaging (10), the inner side of the element (30, 46, 48) of the lid which forms the end of the structure (22) of the lid rests on the end (34) of the side wall (16, 18) which is opposite the floor structure (20), whereby the edge forming the end (34) of the side wall (16, 18) lies completely on the element (30, 46, 48) of the cover in the closed state of the packaging (10). 4. The cutout according to claim 3, time, which is a cutout (110) made of paper, cardboard or plastic.
