Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for obtaining a composite friction layer in brake pads, especially in suspended railways, which comprises adding a mixture containing from 20% to 35% by weight of electrolytic copper with a grain particle size of 0.045 mm to 0.25 mm and from 65% to 80% by weight of sintered carbides with a grain size of up to 1 mm, where the content of grains ≤ 0.3 mm cannot be less than 40%, are placed on a steel backing of the block body using a ceramic shape or a cast iron ring, then compacted by pressing or processed by pressing methods, the friction layer thus prepared is placed in a vacuum furnace, the process is carried out at a pressure of 6*10-3 [hPa] to 10-2 [hPa], heated at a temperature of 1000°C to 1200°C, preferably 1080°C at a speed of 10°C/min to 60°C/min, for 40 minutes to 1 hour for every 20 mm of the steel cross-section of the block body, after which the charge so heated is reheated from 1100°C to 1140°C ± 20°C until full melting is achieved, cooled to a temperature room temperature in a protective atmosphere of inert gas.
