Abstract

Waste is heated under reduced pressure while fermented and dried using microorganisms by a fermentation drying apparatus 3 to obtain dried products. Fuel is generated from the dried products, which has a reduced variation when generating thermal energy and thus has suitability for use. A system includes: the fermentation drying apparatus 3 that stores the waste containing organic waste (object to be treated) in a tank 30 (sealed container), heats and stirs the waste under reduced pressure so that a temperature of the waste is within a predetermined temperature range, ferments organic matter using microorganisms, and obtains volume-reduced dried products; a vibration sieving machine 4 (classifier) that classifies the obtained dried products so as to separate the dried products into relatively large grains and relatively small grains; and a storage apparatus 6 that temporarily stores the large grains and the small grains separately.
