Abstract
A power generation device comprising: an electric motor (18) that has a first object, a second object, permanent magnets, and windings (15, 16, 17), and that generates an electromotive force in the windings by relative motion between the first object and the second object; and a power supply circuit (19) that supplies current to the windings, and that has a property whereby the phase of the current with respect to the permanent magnets changes when the magnitude of the electromotive force changes. When the electric motor (18) steps out, the power supply circuit (19) changes the frequency of the current with respect to the frequency before the step-out, and then restarts the electric motor (18). Consequently, provided is a power generation device that can suitably determine a step-out state and recover original function.
