Abstract

Provided are a packaging container and a packaging method for food which are convenient when and after an outer bag is opened. An individual package paper piece (2) for individually packing gum (1) can be separated into a separation portion (2A) and a fixed portion (2B) in the longitudinal direction of the gum (1). A plurality of pieces of individually packaged gum (1) (food units (3)) are aligned in the lateral direction and arranged on a rear-side outer package material (51), and a front-side outer package material (52) is folded along one edge (53) of the rear-side outer package material (51) to cover the upper surface side of the food units (3). Peripheral edges of the rear-side outer package material (51) and the front-side outer package material (52) are sealed at a sealing portion (7) so as to complete a packaging container (100) (outer bag) by the joined rear-side outer package material (51) and front-side outer package material (52), and thus, the food units (3) are sealed in the packaging container (100). The fixed portion (2B) of the individual package paper piece (2) of each food unit (3) is secured by an adhesive member (8) to at least one of the rear-side outer package material (51) and the front-side outer package material (52).
