Abstract
La presente invencion se refiere a una proteina insecticida mutante Vip3; asi como el polinucleotido que codifica dicha proteina, optimizado para que se exprese en celulas de plantas. Tambien se refiere al vector que contiene el polinucleotido y un elemento regulador de la expresion operativamente unido al mismo; a la celula huesped que contiene el polinucleotido o el vector de expresion, con preferencia, la celula huesped es una celula de planta. La aplicacion del vector de expresion o la celula huesped mejora las caracteristicas de resistencia a los insectos de una planta.
