QUE COMPRENDE: a) ENFRIAR POR LO MENOS PARTE DE LA SOLUCION INICIAL A UNA TEMPERATURA ENTRE 30°C Y 45°C, REGULANDO ADEMAS EL pH ENTRE 1,5 Y 3,9; b) SEPARAR CON Cu2O LOS CLORUROS DE LA SOLUCION ENFRIADA, PRECIPITANDO CLORURO DE COBRE; c) SEPARAR CLORURO DE COBRE DE LA SOLUCION, USANDO UN ALCALI, CONVIRTIENDOLO NUEVAMENTE A OXIDO CUPROSO Y LLEVADO NUEVAMENTE A (b); Y, d) LLEVAR LA SOLUCION, POR LO MENOS PARCIALMENTE, A UNA SEPARACION DE COBRE MEDIANTE UN INTERCAMBIO IONICO A BASE DE SILICE ALQUIL-SILATADA U OTRO MATERIAL DE SEPARACION DE SOLIDOS, EN DONDE UNA RESINA POLIMERICA TAL COMO UNA AMINA POLIMERICA ACTUA COMO GRUPO FUNCIONAL. LA ETAPA DE INTERCAMBIO IONICO INCLUYE: UN PRETRATAMIENTO ALCALINO DEL INTERCAMBIADOR IONICO; TRATAMIENTO CON UNA SOLUCION DE SULFATO DE ZINC LIBRE DE COBRE A UN pH DE POR LO MENOS 2; SEPARACION DEL COBRE A UN pH ENTRE 3,7 Y 4,2; UNA REGENERACION DEL INTERCAMBIADOR IONICO, Y UNA SEPARACION DEL COBRE DESDE LA SOLUCION DE REGENERACION COMO PRECIPITADO DE SULFURO. OTRA PARTE DE LA SOLUCION ES GUIADA A PRECIPITACION DE OXIDO CUPROSO EN DONDE EL COBRE SE HACE REACCIONAR CON POLVO DE ZINC PARA FORMAR Cu2O, EL CUAL ES LLEVADO A (c) CON UN CONTENIDO DE Cu DE 500 A 5000 mg/L. EL CONTENIDO DE Zn EN LA SOLUCION INICIAL ES DE 30 A 200 g/L; Y EL DE Cu ES DE 100 A 2000 mg/L
