LA MATA DE COBRE, FUNDIDA o SOLIDA, SE ALIMENTA EN UN HORNO DE CONVERSION DE COBRE CONTINUO EN DONDE SE CONVIERTE A COBRE BLISTER Y ESCORIA. METODO PARA PRODUCIR COBRE BLISTER, DE ALREDEDOR DE 500 ppm DE AZUFRE, DENTRO DE UN HORNO DE CONVERSION DE COBRE CONTINUO, EN DONDE EL HORNO COMPRENDE UNA ZONA DE ASENTADERO Y UN MECANISMO PARA AGITAR LA INTERFASE DE COBRE BLISTER/ESCORIA FUNDIDOS. DICHO METODO COMPRENDE : i) ALIMENTAR LA MATA DE COBRE AL HORNO EN CONDICIONES SUFICIENTES PARA CONVERTIR LA MATA EN COBRE BLISTER Y ESCORIA FUNDIDOS; ii) REUNIR EL COBRE BLISTER Y LA ESCORIA FUNDIDOS EN LA ZONA DE ASENTADERO DEL HORNO DE MODO QUE LA ESCORIA CONTENGA OXIDOS DE COBRE Y METAL DE COBRE Y FLOTE SOBRE EL COBRE BLISTER FUNDIDO Y FORME UNA INTERFASE CON ESTE, Y EL COBRE BLISTER CONTENGA AZUFRE EN UN EXCESO ALREDEDOR DE 700 ppm; iii) AGITAR LA INTERFASE (ii), DE PREFERENCIA CON GAS, DE MODO QUE EL CONTENIDO DE AZUFRE SE REDUZCA A MENOS DE ALREDEDOR DE 700 ppm, Y LOS OXIDOS DE COBRE Y METAL DE COBRE EN LA ESCORIA TAMBIEN SE REDUZCAN; iv) RETIRAR EL COBRE BLISTER FUNDIDO CON EL CONTENIDO DE AZUFRE REDUCIDO PROVENIENTE DEL HORNO
