QUE COMPRENDE POR LO MENOS UNA PRIMERA CAPA DE MATERIAL CON UNA SUPERFICIE QUE CONSISTE ESENCIALMENTE DE POLIETILENO QUE HA SIDO TRATADO CON PLASMA O EN LA CORONA PARA OBTENER UNA BUENA PERMEABILIDAD AL LIQUIDO AUN INCLUSO DESPUES DE UN HUMEDECIMIENTO REPETIDO; DONDE EN EL TRATAMIENTO CON CORONA LA LAMINA DE RECUBRIMIENTO ES TRATADA CON PLASMA, QUE ES UN GAS AL QUE SE LE HA DADO TANTA ENERGIA QUE HA SIDO COMPLETA O PARCIALMENTE IONIZADO, DONDE EL CONTACTO DE LA SUPERFICIE DEL MATERIAL CON DICHO GAS DA COMO RESULTADO LA FORMACION DE RADICALES EN LA SUPERFICIE DEL MATERIAL, LUEGO DIFERENTES GRUPOS FUNCIONALES SE INTRODUCEN EN LA SUEPRFICIE DEL MATERIAL COMO POR EJEMPLO GRUPOS FUNCIONALES QUE CONTENGAN OXIGENO CREANDO UNA ESTRUCTURA HIFROFILA MAS ESTABLE QUE CUANDO LA SUPERFICIE ES SOLO RECUBIERTA CON UN COMPUESTO ACTIVO, SIN HABER ENLAZADO QUIMICAMENTE EL COMPUESTO A LA SUPERFICIE.
