- 적용된 전압에 따라 다른 컬러를 표시하기 위한 액정표시장치를 구동시키는 방법에 있어서, 상기 액정표시패널(3)은 적어도 2개의 표시영역(3b,3c)을 가지며, 상기 방법은; 상기의 적어도 2개의 표시영역(3b,3c)에 표시컬러를 지정하는 단계; 및 표시컬러 지정에 따라 상기의 적어도 2개의 표시영역(3b,3c)에 각각 구동신호를 발생시켜, 상기 액정표시패널(3)에 상기 구동신호를 적용시켜, 그것에 의해 상기의 적어도 2개의 표시영역(3b,3c)상에 지정컬러를 표시하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.

- 제17항에 있어서, 상기 지정단계는 상기 문자 컬러데이타 저장수단 및 상기 화상컬러데이타 저장수단중의 적어도 하나에 어떤 2p컬러를 지정하기 위한 P-비트 컬러데이타를 저장하며; 상기 구동단계는 상기 p-비트 표시컬러 데이타를 q-비트 표시컬러데이타(q>p)로 변환시키고 변환 후에 상기 q-비트 표시컬러데이타에 대응하는 표시컬러로 상기 표시데이타를 표시하는 것과 같은 방법으로 상기 액정표시패널을 구동시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 액정표시패널(3)은 적용된 전압을 제어함으로써 액정의 제공을 변환시켜 표시컬러를 바꾸는 반사형의 액정표시장치로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
