상기 제조된 밀웜오일 또는 밀웜 추출물을 시중에 판매되고 있는 일반 개 사료(홈패밀리 10kg, 대한사료주식회사)에 각각 첨가하고 혼합하여 사료를 제조하였으며, 이의 면역력 증진 효과를 확인하였다. 구체적으로, 5개월령의 강아지(종: 말티즈, 평균 체중: 0.5~1 kg)를 각각 5마리씩 나누어 밀웜오일 무처리군(기본 사료 급이; 음성 대조군), 밀웜오일 처리군(제조예 1; 실험군), 밀웜 열수 추출물 처리군(비교예 1), 밀웜 에탄올 추출물 처리군(비교예 2), 밀웜 가수분해물 처리군(비교예 3) 및 밀웜 분말 처리군(비교예 4)으로 그룹 설정하고, 30일간 급이하였으며, 물을 자유롭게 마시도록 하였다. 급이한지 30일 후 각 그룹으로부터 혈액을 채취한 후 면역효소측정법인 ELISA를 수행하여 면역글로불린 중 하나인 IgG(immunoglobulin G)의 농도를 측정하였다.The prepared mealworm oil or mealworm extract was added to commercially available general dog food (Home Family 10kg, Daehan Feed Co., Ltd.) and mixed to prepare a feed, and the immunity enhancing effect thereof was confirmed.
