본 발명의 발모용 조성물 1(헤어 토닉)을 모발의 수가 정상에 비해 현저히 적거나, 탈모증상이 보이며 모발이 약한 남녀 총 20명을 대상으로 하여 1주에 5회씩 6개월 동안 모발 및 두피에 사용하였다. 사용 후, 모발의 굵기, 밀집 정도, 탄력성 및 전체적 평가 항목에 대하여 개선정도(매우 좋아짐;+3, 좋아짐;+2, 조금 좋아짐;+1, 변화없음;0, 조금 나빠짐;-1, 나빠짐;-2, 매우 나빠짐;-3)를 3개월, 6개월 경과 후 사용자 문진하여 평균값으로 판정하였다. 상기 표 5에서 확인할 수 있듯이, 무처리군에 비해서 헤데라게닌을 처리한 군은 모발의 굵기, 모발의 밀집 정도, 및 탄력성을 모두 고려하였을 때, 3개월 후 전체적으로 평균 2.3 정도의 값을 얻었고, 6개월 후에는 2.6 정도의 값을 얻었다. 그러나, 무처리군의 경우 전체 평가 결과 3개월 후 전체적으로 평균 0±0.3정도의 값을 얻었고, 6개월 후에는 0±0.2정도의 값을 얻었다.
