PURPOSE: A gas sensor device using the audio interface of a smart phone and a method are provided to utilize the audio interface through a headset port, thereby measuring gas by using the smart phone with standard audio interface. CONSTITUTION: A gas sensor device(100) comprises an IC chip and an output jack(102). The IC chip modulates measured data and controls a sensor. The output jack is connected to the audio interface of a smart phone. The sensor and the IC chip are arranged inside a housing unit.
