Description
Claims (26)
- 전기화학 셀 제조 방법으로서, 상기 전기화학 셀은 전기 저항 시트에 의해 분리된 마주보는 제 1 전극 및 제 2 전극을 포함하며, 상기 방법은,(a) 전기 저항 시트에 제 1 경계 개구부(bound opening)을 형성하여 천공된 전기 저항 시트를 형성하는 단계;(b) 상기 천공된 전기 저항 시트를 제 1 전기 도전성 시트에 부착하여 결합 시트를 형성하는 단계로서, 상기 제 1 전기 도전성 시트의 도전면의 제 1 부분이 상기 제 1 경계 개구부를 통하여 노출되어 있고, 상기 전기 도전성 시트의 도전면의 제 2 부분이 상기 전기 저항 시트내의 제 2 경계 개구부를 통하여 노출되어 있거나 또는 상기 전기 저항 시트의 가장자리를 넘어 연장되어 노출되어 있는 단계;(c) 상기 결합 시트의 전기 저항 시트 및 제 1 전기 도전성 시트를 관통하는 노칭 개구부(notching opening)를 천공하는 단계로서, 상기 노칭 개구부는 상기 전기 저항 시트내의 제 1 경계 개구부를 가로지르고(intersect) 이로써 상기 제 1 경계 개구부를 상기 전기 저항 시트내의 노치(notch)로 변환시키고, 또한 상기 전기 도전성 시트의 제 2 노출 부분을 관통하여 제 1 접촉 영역 개구부를 천공하여 보이도록 하여 제 1 전기적 접촉을 형성함으로써, 천공된 결합 시트를 형성하는 단계;(d) 제 2 전기 도전성 시트를 펀치 또는 펀치들로 천공하여 상기 천공된 결합 시트의 노칭 개구부에 대응하는 노칭 개구부 및 상기 제 2 전기 도전성 시트내에 제 2 접촉 영역을 구비한 전기 도전성 시트를 형성함으로써, 마주보는 전극 시 트를 형성하는 단계;(e) 전기 도전성 표면이 상기 전기 저항 시트를 향하도록 상기 마주보는 전극 시트를 상기 천공된 결합 시트의 전기 저항 시트 부분에 부착하는 단계로서, 상기 마주보는 전극 시트는 상기 결합 시트의 노칭 개구부에 대응하는 노칭 개구부가 상기 결합 시트의 노칭 개구부와 얼라인(align)되고, 상기 제 2 접촉 영역이 상기 제 2 경계 개구부와 얼라인되도록 부착됨으로써, 전기화학 시트를 형성하는 단계, 및(f) 상기 전기화학 시트를 분리함으로써 폐(spent) 전기화학적 시트 및 상기 제 1 및 제 2 도전성 시트 및 상기 전기 저항 시트의 노치에 의해 한정되는 시료를 받아들이는 시료 공간 및 계량기(meter)와 상기 제 1 및 제 2 전극 부분을 연결하기 위하여 상기 시료 공간에 노출된 상기 제 1 및 제 2 도전성 시트의 전극 부분과 전기 도전성 접촉을 하는 제 1 및 제 2 접촉 영역을 구비한 자유(free) 전기화학 셀을 형성하는 단계를 포함하는 전기화학 셀 제조방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 마주보는 전극을 형성하는 단계에서, 상기 결합 시트의 제 2 전기 도전성 시트를 관통하는 배출 개구부를 천공하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법으로서, 여기서 상기 배출 개구부는 조립된 셀에서 상기 전기 저항 시트의 노치와 얼라인되어 상기 시료 수용 공간의 내부로 통로를 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 천공된 결합 시트를 형성하는 단계에서, 상기 결합 시트의 전기 저항 시트 및 제 1 전기 도전성 시트를 관통하는 배출 개구부를 천공하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법으로서, 상기 배출 개구부는 상기 전기 저항 시트의 노치와 얼라인되어 상기 시료 수용 공간의 내부로 통로를 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 주개구 영역(major open area)의 일 말단부를 가로지르고 상기 노칭 개구부와 함께 상기 시료 공간의 길이를 한정하는 배출 개구부를 형성하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 시료 수용 공간에 시약를 첨가하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 5항에 있어서, 상기 전기화학 시트를 형성하기 전에 상기 시약이 상기 천공된 결합 시트내의 노치에 첨가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 5항 또는 제 6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 시약이 효소 및 산화 환원 매개체(redox mediator)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 7항에 있어서, 상기 효소가 글루코스 옥시다제(glucose oxidase)인 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 및 제 2 전기 도전성 시트가 금(gold)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 9항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 전기 저항 시트의 경계 개구부(bound opening)가 직선으로 둘러싸인 단면(rectilinear cross-section)으로 된 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 10항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 전기 저항 시트 및 상기 제 1 및 제 2 전기 도전성 시트 각각에 얼라인먼트(alignment)를 형성하기 위해 레지스트레이션(registration) 홀이 제공되고, 상기 레지스트레이션 홀은 상기 폐 전기화학 시트로 분리되어 떨어져 나가는 시트의 부분에 위치하여, 최종 장치의 부분이 되지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 11항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 시료 수용 공간이 1 ㎕이하의 부피를 갖거나, 바람직하게는 0.5 ㎕ 이하의 부피를 갖도록, 상기 전기 저항 시트가 두께를 가지고, 상기 노치가 치수(dimension)를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 12항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 두 개의 경계 개구부가 상기 저항 시트에 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 13항 중 어느 한 항에, 상기 마주보는 전극이 두 개의 마주보는 도전면을 구비하며, 상기 마주보는 전극의 양 측면 모두가 결합된 천공 시트(combined punched sheet)에 부착되어 2 개의 적층된 시료 수용 공간을 구비한 장치를 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 14항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 복수 개의 경계 개구부가 상기 전기 저항 시트에 형성되고, 이로써 복수 개의 동일 평면 시료 수용 공간이 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 셀 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 내지 제 15항 중 어느 한 항의 방법으로 제조된 전기화학 장치.
- 시료 수용 말단부 및 커넥터 말단부를 구비한 전기화학 장치로서,(a) 제 1 지지체로서, 상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료의 비패턴 층을 구비한 제 1 지지체;(b) 전기 저항 중간층, 및(c) 제 2 지지체로서, 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료 의 비패턴 층을 구비한 제 2 지지체를 차례로 포함하고,상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면 및 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면이 상기 전기 저항 중간층에 부착되어 있고;상기 장치는, 시료 수용 말단부 가까이에 배치되어 있으나, 상기 장치의 ㅈ자유(free) 가장자리로(free edge)부터 일정한 간격을 두고 떨어져 있는 홀을 구비하며, 상기 홀은 상기 제 1 지지체, 상기 전기 저항 중간층, 및 상기 제 2 지지체를 관통하며, 상기 장치는, 제 1 시료 공간을 구비하며, 상기 제 1 시료 공간은 전기 저항 중간층을 관통하며 또한 마주보는 측면에서 상기 제 1 지지체의 비패턴(unpatterned) 도전성 재료 및 상기 제 2 지지체의 비패턴 도전성 재료와 경계를 접하고 있으며 또한 상기 시료 공간은 상기 장치의 자유 가장자리에서 상기 홀까지 연장되어 있고 양 말단부에서 개방되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 17항에 있어서, 상기 시료 공간 내부에 배치된 시약을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 18항에 있어서, 상기 시약이 효소 및 산화 환원 매개체를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학적 장치.
- 제 19항에 있어서, 상기 효소가 글루코스 옥시다제인 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 17항 내지 제 20항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 지지체 위의 도전성 재료가 금을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 21항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 지지체 위의 도전성 재료가 금을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 17항 내지 제 22항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 중간층이 50 내지 500 ㎛의 두께를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 17항 내지 제 23항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 시료 공간이 1 ㎕ 이하의 부피, 바람직하게는 500 nl 이하의 부피, 및 더욱 바람직하게는 100 내지 300 nl의 부피를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 17항 내지 제 24항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 시료 공간에 대하여 적층된 구조(stacked configuration)로 형성된 제 2 시료 공간을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 17항 내지 제 25항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 시료 공간에 대하여 동일 평면 위치에 형성된 추가적인 시료 공간을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하 는 전기화학 장치.
