Claims (39)
- 신호 강도 데이터가 검출될 수 있는 환경에서,적어도 하나의 기지국으로부터 수신된 신호들에 대하여, 제1 디바이스의 신호 강도 데이터를 획득하는 단계, 및상기 신호 강도 데이터에 기초하여, 제1 네트워크 디바이스로부터 자원까지의 근사적인 거리를 계산하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,신호 강도 데이터의 데이터베이스를 구축하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 데이터베이스로부터, 어떤 기지국들이 서로 동시에 검출될 수 있는지를 결정하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,어떤 기지국들이 어떤 다른 기지국들에 인접한지에 관한 정보를 포함하는 데이터 구조를 유지하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서,클라이언트가 자원까지 몇개의 기지국만큼 떨어져 있는지에 대응하는 데이터를 상기 클라이언트에게 제공하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 데이터베이스를 구축하는 단계는, 이전에 검출된 적이 없는 적어도 하나의 기지국에 관한 불일치 정보를 폐기하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 데이터베이스를 구축하는 단계는, 중첩하는 커버리지를 갖는 것으로 보고되지만 이전에는 중첩하는 커버리지를 갖는 것으로서 검출된 적이 없는 기지국들에 관한 불일치 정보를 폐기하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 네트워크 디바이스로부터 자원까지의 근사적인 거리를 계산하는 단계는, 얼마나 많은 기지국들이 이들 각각에 의해 공통으로 검출되는지를 비교하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 제1 네트워크 디바이스로부터 자원까지의 근사적인 거리를 계산하는 단 계는, 공통으로 보여지는 기지국들을 신호 강도값에 의하여 상기 네트워크 디바이스에 대한 제1 순위 및 상기 자원에 대한 제2 순위로 순위화하고, 상기 제1 순위와 상기 제2 순위 간의 유사성을 결정하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,거리를 계산하기 위하여 수치적 특징(numeric feature)들을 선택하고, 상기 특징들의 조합을 테스트하여, 실제 거리에 대하여 최상의 결과를 제공하는 함수를 결정하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 자원은 상기 네트워크에 접속되지 않으며,다른 네트워크 디바이스를 사용하여 상기 자원에 신호 강도 데이터를 할당하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 자원은 모바일 컴퓨팅 디바이스를 포함하고,상기 자원로부터 복수의 판독치를 획득하고, 상기 복수의 판독치 중 최종의 판독치에 기초하여, 상기 자원까지의 근사적인 거리에 대응하는 정보를 반환하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,클라이언트의 단거리 범위 내에 있는 적어도 하나의 자원에 대응하는 단거리 근접성 데이터를 상기 클라이언트에게 제공하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 근접성 데이터를 사용하여, 모바일 디바이스가 다른 모바일 디바이스에 가깝게 관련되는지를 확인하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 단거리 근접성 데이터는 상기 클라이언트의 사용자에게 근처의 사람들 및 물체들의 리스트를 제시하는 데에 사용되는 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 단거리 근접성 데이터에 기초하여 상기 클라이언트로부터 다른 디바이스에게 또 다른 디바이스가 근처에 있음을 나타내는 통신을 전송하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 실행시에 제1항의 방법을 수행하는 컴퓨터 실행가능 명령어들을 갖는 적어도 하나의 컴퓨터 판독가능 매체.
- 네트워크 환경에서,각각의 검출된 신호에 대하여 신호 강도 및 액세스 포인트 신분을 나타내는 신호 강도 데이터를 복수의 스캔 소스로부터 획득하는 단계, 및상기 데이터를 원거리 근접 정보를 전개하도록 처리하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 데이터를 스캔 소스와 다른 엔티티 간의 단거리 근접 정보를 전개하도록 처리하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 데이터를 원거리 근접 정보를 전개하도록 처리하는 단계는, 어떤 액세스 포인트들이 스캔 소스에 의하여 동시에 검출되는지를 결정함으로써, 액세스 포인트 토폴로지를 결정하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제20항에 있어서,상기 토폴로지를 이용하여, 쿼리를 행한 클라이언트와 다른 엔티티 간의 액세스 포인트들의 개수에 대응하는 데이터를 제공하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 신호 강도 데이터의 적어도 일부에 타임스탬프를 적용하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서,상기 타임스탬프를 이용하여, 스캔 소스에 대응하는 사용자와 다른 스캔 소스에 대응하는 다른 엔티티 간의 추정된 이동 시간을 계산하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제23항에 있어서,상기 추정된 시간을 상기 사용자에게 송신하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 실행시에 제18항의 방법을 수행하는 컴퓨터 실행가능 명령어들을 갖는 적어도 하나의 컴퓨터 판독가능 매체.
- 네트워크 환경에서,적어도 하나의 기지국으로부터 제1 네트워크 디바이스에 의해 수신된 신호들에 관한 신호 강도 데이터를 포함하는 제1 시그너쳐(signature)를 획득하는 단계,적어도 하나의 기지국으로부터 제2 네트워크 디바이스에 의해 수신된 신호들에 관한 신호 강도 데이터를 포함하는 제2 시그너쳐를 획득하는 단계, 및상기 제1 및 제2 시그너쳐에 기초하여, 상기 제1 네트워크 디바이스로부터 상기 제2 네트워크 디바이스까지의 근사적인 거리를 계산하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제26항에 있어서,상기 제2 네트워크 디바이스는 네트워크 디바이스가 아닌 자원을 나타내며,상기 신호 강도 데이터에 관련된 자원에 관한 정보를 수신하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.

- 제28항에 있어서,상기 수치적 함수는 상기 제1 네트워크 디바이스와 상기 제2 네트워크 디바이스 간에서 공통으로 검출되는 기지국들의 개수에 대응하는 하나의 변수와, 상기 제1 네트워크 디바이스와 상기 제2 네트워크 디바이스가 공통으로 보여지는 기지국들을 신호 강도에 의해 얼마나 가깝게 순위화했는지에 대응하는 다른 변수를 포함하는 방법.
- 제28항에 있어서,상기 함수는 다항식을 포함하고,상기 다항식의 계수들을 결정하기 위하여 실제 거리를 측정하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제26항에 있어서,상기 거리를 클라이언트에게 보고하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
