Abstract
Description
Claims (7)
- 투명한 하부기판;상기 하부기판상에 매트릭스 형태로 배열된 다수개의 게이트 버스 라인 및 상기 게이트 버스 라인과 교차하는 다수개의 데이터 버스 라인으로서, 한 쌍의 상기 게이트 버스 라인과 한 쌍의 데이터 버스 라인에 의해서 둘러싸이는 단위화소영역을 각각 한정하는 상기 다수개의 게이트 버스 라인 및 상기 다수개의 데이터 버스 라인;상기 다수개의 단위 화소영역에 각각 형성된 다수개의 화소 전극;상기 다수개의 단위 화소영역에 각각 형성되며, 상기 화소 전극 각각에 대응되도록 배열된 다수개의 상대전극;상기 화소전극과 상기 상대전극의 각각의 상부에 형성된 배향막;상기 하부기판과 일정거리를 두고 대향하는 상부기판; 및상기 기판들사이에 주입된 액정을 포함하며,상기 단위화소영역들중 어느 한 단위화소영역과, 상기 데이터 버스 라인의 방향과 상기 게이트 버스 라인중 적어도 어느 한 방향으로 상기 어느 한 단위화소영역과 인접형성된 단위화소영역에서, 각각의 화소전극들과 상대전극들이, 전압인가시 상기 양 단위화소영역내에 형성되는 전기장의 방향이 서로 90°를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 단위화소영역들중 어느 한 단위화소영역내부에 배열된 화소전극과 상대전극은 모두 상기 데이터 버스 라인의 방향과 실질적으로 평행하하게 배열되며,상기 어느 한 단위화소영역과 데이터 버스 라인의 평행하는방향 또는 수직인 방향중 적어도 어느 한 방향에 인접 위치되는 단위화소영역내의 화소전극과 상대전극은 상기 데이터 버스 라인의 방향과 실질적으로 수직으로 배열되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 어느 한 단위화소영역내의 화소전극과 상대전극은 단위화소영역내의 전기장 형성영역이 적어도 2 영역으로 분획되도록 형성되고, 상기 어느 한 단위화소영역과 인접하여 형성된 단위화소영역내의 화소전극과 상대전극은 단위화소영역내의 전기장 형성영역이 적어도 2 영역으로 분획되도록 형성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 배향막들의 러빙방향은 상기 게이트 버스 라인을 기준으로 45±5°또는 -45±5°인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 액정은 그의 유전율 이방성이 양 또는 음인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 액정의 두께는 6㎛이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 액정의 층 두께(d) × 굴절율의 이방성(Δn)은 0.2내지 0.6㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
