Claims (13)
- 일 데이터라인에 연결된 서로 다른 색상의 복수의 서브화소를 위하여 영상데이터를 생성하는 데이터처리장치에 있어서,
제1 서브화소 및 상기 제1 서브화소 이후에 구동되는 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값에 과도구동(overdriving) 또는 과소구동(underdriving)을 수행하여 보상영상데이터를 생성하는 제1 데이터보상부; 및
상기 제1 서브화소의 보상영상데이터와 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터가 동일하거나 일정범위 이내에서 상이하면, 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 감소시켜, 상기 제2 서브화소의 최종 보상영상데이터를 생성하는 제2 데이터보상부를 포함하고,
상기 제2 서브화소의 최종 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 포함하는 프레임에 대한 순색휘도비는, 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값을 포함하는 프레임에 대한 순색휘도비 보다 높고,
상기 순색휘도비는, 흰색의 휘도에 대하여 적색, 녹색, 및 청색에 대한 각 휘도의 합의 비율로 정의되는 데이터처리장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제2 데이터보상부는, 상기 제1 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값과 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값의 차이를 반영하여 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 감소시키는 데이터처리장치. - 제2항에 있어서,
상기 제2 데이터보상부는, 상기 제1 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값과 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값 차이가 작을수록 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 더 많이 감소시키는 데이터처리장치. - 제2항에 있어서,
상기 제2 데이터보상부는, 상기 제1 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값과 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값 차이가 클수록 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 더 적게 감소시키는 데이터처리장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제2 데이터보상부는, 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 반영하여 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 감소시키는 데이터처리장치. - 제5항에 있어서,
상기 제2 데이터보상부는, 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값이 클수록 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 더 많이 감소시키는 데이터처리장치. - 제5항에 있어서,
상기 제2 데이터보상부는, 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값이 작을수록 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 더 적게 감소시키는 데이터처리장치. - 제5항에 있어서,
상기 제2 데이터보상부는, 룩업테이블을 이용하여 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터에 대한 계조값 감소량을 결정하는 데이터처리장치. - 일 데이터라인에 연결된 서로 다른 색상의 복수의 서브화소를 위하여 영상데이터를 생성하는 데이터처리장치에 있어서,
제1 서브화소의 영상데이터와, 상기 제1 서브화소 이후에 구동되는 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터를 비교하는 비교부; 및
상기 제1 서브화소의 영상데이터와 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터가 동일하거나 일정범위 이내에서 상이하면, 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값을 감소시켜 상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터를 생성하는 데이터보상부를 포함하고,
상기 제2 서브화소의 보상영상데이터의 계조값을 포함하는 프레임에 대한 순색휘도비는, 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값을 포함하는 프레임에 대한 순색휘도비 보다 높고,
상기 순색휘도비는, 흰색의 휘도에 대하여 적색, 녹색, 및 청색에 대한 각 휘도의 합의 비율로 정의되는 데이터처리장치. - 제9항에 있어서,
상기 데이터보상부는, 상기 제1 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값과 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값 차이를 반영하여, 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값의 감소량을 크게 또는 적게 조정하는 데이터처리장치. - 제9항에 있어서,
상기 데이터보상부는, 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값을 반영하여, 상기 제2 서브화소의 영상데이터의 계조값의 감소량을 크게 또는 적게 조정하는 데이터처리장치. - 제9항에 있어서,
상기 일 데이터라인은, 복수의 게이트라인과 교차하고,
