- 콜레스테릭상과 등방상(等方相)의 사이에서 청색상을 발현할 수 있는 저분자액정과,상기 저분자액정 중에 형성된 고분자 네트워크이며 비액정성의 모노머가 가교제와 함께 중합되는 것에 의해 형성된 고분자 네트워크로 이루어지는 복합계 액정조성물의 청색상으로 구성된 고분자안정화 블루상 액정에 있어서,상기 고분자 안정화 블루상 액정이 카이랄 도판트(chiral dopant)를 포함하고,상기 고분자 안정화 블루상 액정에 대한 카이랄 도판트의 양이 상기 고분자 안정화 블루상 액정의 회절파장이 가시영역(380~750nm)외에 있도록 조정된 것을 특징으로 하는 고분자 안정화 블루상 액정.
- 제 5항에 기재된 상기 고분자 안정화 블루상 액정을, 한 쌍의 투명기판에 협지하여 구성되는 액정표시소자에 있어서,전계를 상기 기판에 평행으로 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
- 제 6항에 있어서,상기 전계가, 한 쪽의 투명기판면에 서로 짜넣은 즐치(櫛齒)형의 2개의 전극에 의해 인가되는 액정표시소자.
- 제 6항 또는 제 7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 전계를 한 쪽의 기판면내에 TFT와 공통 전극을 짜 넣고, 상기 TFT의 온-오프에 있어서, 입력 신호에 따른 전계로 하여 TFT전극과 공통 전극의 사이에 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
