Claims (5)
- 소정의 케이블 모뎀별로 그룹화가 되어 CMTS와 통신할 수 있는 업스트림 채널 정보가 설정되어 있는 케이블 모뎀에 있어서,상기 CMTS로부터 UCD 메시지를 수신하는 튜너부와;상기 UCD 메시지의 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보값과 케이블 모뎀의 메모리부에 저장되어 있는 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보 값을 비교하고 일치하는 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보값에 해당하는 업스트림 채널이 설정되도록 제어하는 CPU를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 케이블 모뎀.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 메모리부는 비휘발성 메모리인 것을 특징으로 하는 케이블 모뎀.
- (a) 케이블 모뎀이 구동되는 단계와;(b) 상기 케이블 모뎀은 자신의 메모리부에 저장되어 있는, 할당된 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보를 획득하는 단계와;(c) 상기 케이블 모뎀은 CMTS로부터 전송되는 UCD 정보로부터, 자신에게 설정되어 있는 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보에 해당되는 UCD 정보를 수신하는 단계; 및(d) 상기 케이블 모뎀은 상기 단계 (c)에서 수신된 UCD 정보를 참조하여, 업스트림 채널을 설정하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 케이블 모뎀에서의 업스트림 채널 선택방법.
- 제 3항에 있어서,상기 UCD 정보에는 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보가 포함되어 있으며, 그 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보는 type(1 byte), length(1 byte) 및 value(variable length)로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 케이블 모뎀에서의 업스트림 채널 선택방법.
- 제 4항에 있어서,상기 업스트림 채널 그룹 정보에 있어서, 그룹 정보에 대한 값을 저장하고 있는 value 부분은 length의 값에 따라 결정되는 가변 데이터인 것을 특징으로 하는 케이블 모뎀에서의 업스트림 채널 선택방법.
