Abstract

본 발명은, TV신호 수신모듈을 장착한 휴대용 컴퓨터에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 휴대용 컴퓨터는 아날로그 TV신호 및 디지털 TV신호를 수신하는 튜너와; 상기 튜너가 상기 수신된 아날로그 TV신호로부터 분리해낸 영상신호를 입력받아 화면상에 디스플레이 가능한 신호로 처리하는 비디오 디코더와; 상기 비디오 디코더에서 처리된 아날로그 영상신호를 압축 포맷으로 저장하기 위한 압축엔진부와; 상기 압축엔진부에서 압축된 포맷을 저장하기 위한 메모리부와; 상기 튜너로부터 수신된 상기 디지털 TV신호와 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 제어하는 네트워크연결부가 일체로 형성되어 있으며, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 위치에 장착될 수 있도록 외장이 형성되어 있는 TV신호 수신모듈을 포함한다. 이에 의하여, 하나의 TV신호 수신모듈에서 아날로그 TV신호인 NTSC 및 디지털 TV신호인 ATSC 양자를 모두 수신할 수 있게 되며, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 사용 중에도 언제든지 접속하여 TV를 시청할 수 있는 편의를 제공한다. 나아가, 외장뿐 아니라, 특히 휴대용 컴퓨터의 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 위치에 장착되어 내장형으로 구현가능하다.

본 발명은 휴대용 컴퓨터에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 아날로그/디지털 TV신호 양자를 모두 수신할 수 있고, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 사용중에도 접속가능하며, 내/외장으로 사용가능한 TV신호 수신모듈을 장착한 휴대용 컴퓨터에 관한 것이다.
TV신호 수신모듈인 TV카드는 컴퓨터 시스템, 특히 개인용 컴퓨터에서 TV를 볼 수 있게 해 주는 장치이다.
일반적으로 TV신호 수신모듈 중 하나인 아날로그 TV/PVR(Personal Video Recorder) 카드는 NTSC 튜너에 장착된 안테나를 통해 수신된 아날로그 TV방송신호를 디지털신호로 변환/압축하여 PCI버스를 통해 컴퓨터 시스템으로 전달하여 외부 디스플레이장치에 제공하여 표시되게 한다.
이와 유사하게, 디지털 TV 카드는 NTSC/ATSC 튜너를 통해 수신된 TV방송신호 중 NTSC는 바이패스시키고, ATSC는 복조 및 복원하여 디지털신호로 변환하여 PCI 버스를 통해 컴퓨터 시스템으로 전달하여 외부 디스플레이장치에 제공하여 표시되게 한다.
이들을 포함하여 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 TV카드는 컴퓨터의 메인 보드에 마련된 슬롯에 장착시킬 수 있는 PCI 인터페이스를 가지고 있다. 사용자는 TV카드를 컴퓨터에 장착시킴으로써, 손쉽게 컴퓨터 시스템 상에서 TV를 시청할 수 있다.
그러나, 이러한 PCI 인터페이스에 장착되는 TV카드는 컴퓨터 시스템의 부팅시에 장착되어 있어야만 컴퓨터 시스템에 의해 인식가능하므로, 컴퓨터 사용을 중단하지 않고도 연결할 수 있는 핫-플러그(Hot-Plug)를 지원하지 못하는 단점이 있다.
또한, 컴퓨터 시스템, 특히 휴대용 컴퓨터 본체에 안착되는 메인보드의 소형화 추세에 따라, 상기 아날로그 TV 카드와 상기 디지털 TV 카드 양자를 모두 슬롯에 장착시키기에는 어려움이 있다.
따라서, 본 발명의 목적은, 상기 아날로그 TV 카드와 상기 디지털 TV 카드를 하나의 모듈로 구현하여 내/외장 접속이 가능한 휴대용 컴퓨터용 TV신호 수신모듈을 장착한 휴대용 컴퓨터를 제공하는 데 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 다른 목적은, 컴퓨터 사용 중에도 접속가능한 휴대용 컴퓨터용 TV신호 수신모듈을 장착한 휴대용 컴퓨터를 제공하는 데 있다.
상기 목적은, 본 발명에 따라, 아날로그 TV신호 및 디지털 TV신호를 수신하는 튜너와; 상기 튜너가 상기 수신된 아날로그 TV신호로부터 분리해낸 영상신호를 입력받아 화면상에 디스플레이 가능한 신호로 처리하는 비디오 디코더와; 상기 비디오 디코더에서 처리된 아날로그 영상신호를 압축 포맷으로 저장하기 위한 압축엔진부와; 상기 압축엔진부에서 압축된 포맷을 저장하기 위한 메모리부와; 상기 튜너로부터 수신된 상기 디지털 TV신호와 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 제어하는 네트워크연결부가 일체로 형성되어 있으며, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 위치에 장착될 수 있도록 외장이 형성되어 있는 TV신호 수신모듈을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 컴퓨터에 의해 달성된다.
나아가, 상기 네트워크연결부는, 상기 디지털 TV신호 및 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 USB포트를 통해 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 제어할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 네트워크연결부는, 상기 디지털 TV신호 및 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 USB포트를 통해 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 각각 별개로 제어할 수 있다.
상기 네트워크연결부는, 상기 디지털 TV신호 및 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 단일의 USB포트를 통해 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 제어할 수 있다.
여기서, 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터에는 상기 휴대용 전원공급장치와 접속되도록 마련된 커넥터와 별개로 상기 TV신호 수신모듈과 접속되도록 커넥터가 마련되어 있고, 상기 TV신호 수신모듈이 상기 커넥터에 접속되어 TV신호를 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송한다.

또한, 상기 TV신호 수신모듈은, 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터에 접속가능한 외부연결단자를 더 포함하는 것이 바람직하다.

도 1은 본 발명에 따른 TV신호 수신모듈의 블록구성도이다. 도면에 도시된 바와 같이, 본 발명에 따른 TV신호 수신모듈은 튜너(1)와; 비디오디코더(3)와; 압축엔진부(5)와; 메모리부와(7); 제1USB컨트롤러(11a), 제2USB컨트롤러(11b) 및 USB허브(13)로 이루어진 네트워크연결부(10)를 가진다. 또한, 오디오디코더(4a) 및 ADC(b)를 가지는 것이 바람직하다.
여기서, 비디오디코더(3), 오디오디코더(4a), ADC(4b) 및 압축엔진부(5)는 휴대용 컴퓨터에 유효한 디지털신호로 복조, 복원 및 압축하는 기능을 담당한다.
튜너(1)는 ATSC/NTSC 튜너로 구성되고, 방송국에서 보낸 TV신호에서 원하는 채널의 신호만을 선택하여 수신하는 역할을 한다. 즉, 방송국의 주파수에서 원하는 방송국의 주파수를 선택하여 수신한다. ATSC(Advanced Television System Committee)는 디지털TV방송의 전송방식이며, NTSC(National TV Standard Committee)는 아날로그TV방송의 전송방식이며, 튜너(1)는 디지털 및 아날로그 방송을 모두 수신할 수 있다.
NTSC의 경우, 튜너(1)는 상기 아날로그 TV신호를 영상신호와 오디오신호로 분리하여 각각 CVBS 및 2nd IF로 변환하여 출력한다.
튜너(1)는 상기 분리된 TV영상신호는 베이스밴드 신호인 CVBS로 변환하여 비디오디코더(3)로 출력하고, 상기 분리된 오디오신호는 2nd IF 형태로 변환되어 오디오디코더(4a)로 출력된다.
비디오디코더(3)는 상기 튜너(1)에서 입력받은 CVBS를 디지털 스트림 CCIR656으로 변환하여 엠펙2 엔코더인 압축엔진부(5)로 출력한다.
또한, 오디오디코더(4a)는 입력된 2nd IF 형태의 오디오신호를 디지털 오디오 스트림 I2S 형태로 변환되어 엠펙 엔코더인 압축엔진부(5)로 출력된다.
압축엔진부(5)인 엠펙2 엔코더는 상기 비디오디코더(3) 및 오디오디코더(4a)에서 입력받은 디지털 스트림을 저장 공간의 효율성을 위해 엠펙2 프로그램 스트림으로 압축한다.
상기 메모리부(7)는 휴대용 컴퓨터 본체의 모니터에 디스플레이될 화면에 대한 화상정보가 저장되는 저장공간으로서, 압축엔진부(5)에서 압축된 TV영상신호 및 오디오신호가 메모리부(7)에 저장되며, 상기 저장된 화상정보는 그래픽카드(미도시)로 전달되어 모니터에 표시되게 된다.
이와 같이, 아날로그 TV신호인 NTSC는 비디오디코더(3), 오디오디코더(4a) 및 ADC(4b)를 거쳐 상기 압축엔진부(5)에서 엠펙2 프로그램 스트림 형태로 압축되어 제2USB컨트롤러(11b)로 출력된다.
수신된 디지털 TV신호인 ATSC는 디지털 엠펙2 트랜스포트 스트림으로 변환되어 그대로 제1USB컨트롤러(11a)로 출력된다.
상기 제1USB컨트롤러(11a)는 ATSC 스트림을 USB를 이용하여 전송하기 위해 데이터포맷을 변환하는 제어부이고, 상기 제2USB컨트롤러(11b)는 엠펙2 프로그램 스트림으로 압축된 NTSC 스트림을 USB를 이용하여 전송하기 위해 데이터포맷을 변환하는 제어부의 역할을 한다.
제1USB컨트롤러(11a) 및 제2USB컨트롤러(11b)에 의해 USB를 통해 전송하기에 적합하도록 변환된 TV방송신호는 TV신호 수신모듈에 마련되어 있는 후술할 커넥터 또는 외부연결단자로 출력된다.
여기서, 상기 커넥터 또는 외부연결단자는 각각의 컨트롤러(11a, 11b)에 개별적으로 배당될 수도 있으나, 본 발명에서는 휴대용 컴퓨터에의 장착 및 접속을 간이하게 하기 위해 하나의 커넥터 또는 외부연결단자를 마련하는 실시예를 보여준다.
이를 위하여, 제1USB컨트롤러(11a) 및 제2USB컨트롤러(11b)로부터 변환된 TV방송신호를 입력받는 USB 허브(13)가 마련되는데, USB 허브(13)는 하나의 USB 커넥터 또는 외부연결단자로 상기 입력받은 두 개의 TV방송신호가 입출력되도록 기능한다.
여기서, 비디오디코더(3), 오디오디코더(4a), ADC(4b), 압축엔진부(5), 제1USB컨트롤러(11a), 제2USB컨트롤러(11b) 및 USB 허브(13)는 하나의 독립된 칩의 형태로 구현될 수 있다.
이와 같은 구성을 포함하는 TV신호 수신모듈에 의하여, 하나의 TV신호 수신모듈에서 아날로그 TV신호인 NTSC 및 디지털 TV신호인 ATSC 양자를 모두 수신할 수 있게 된다. 물론 NTSC와 ATSC 중 사용자의 조작에 의해 미리 선택된 하나의 신호만이 디스플레이됨은 물론이다.
또한, PCI 인터페이스 대신 USB를 이용하여 휴대용 컴퓨터에 접속될 수 있으므로, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 사용 중에도 언제든지 접속하여 TV를 시청할 수 있는 편의를 제공한다.
나아가, 메인보드에 마련된 슬롯에 장착하지 않아도 되므로, 휴대용 컴퓨터에의 접속이 용이하게 된다. 이로써, 본 발명에 따른 TV수신모듈은 슬롯 장착형 보드 형태를 유지하지 않아도 되므로, 다양한 형태로 설계될 수 있다.
이하에서는, 휴대용 컴퓨터에의 접속 용이성에 더하여, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 위치에 장착될 수 있도록 설계되어 상기 TV신호 수신모듈이 내장형으로 구현된 TV신호 수신모듈을 설명하기로 한다.
도 2는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 따른 TV신호 수신모듈의 배치도이고, 도 3은 도 2의 TV신호 수신모듈의 사시도이다. 도 2 및 도 3을 참조하면, TV신호 수신모듈의 외장은 휴대용 컴퓨터의 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 위치에 장착되도록 외장이 형성되어 있다.
휴대용 컴퓨터는 다양한 형태의 외장을 가진 휴대용 전원공급장치를 가질 수 있는데, 본 발명에 따른 TV신호 수신모듈의 외장은 접속안정성을 위해 상기 휴대용 전원공급장치와 동일한 것이 바람직하나, 상기 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 부분에 장착될 수 있을 정도로 상기 휴대용 전원공급장치보다 작은 것도 가능하다.
TV신호 수신모듈의 일측에는 휴대용 컴퓨터의 본체 배면에 마련되어 있고 휴대용 전원공급장치가 접속되는 커넥터와 인접하여 별개로 형성되어 있는 USB포트에 접속되는 커넥터(20), 상기 TV신호 수신모듈 내의 부품들에 전원을 공급하기 위한 전원입력단자(21), 케이블 등을 이용하여 휴대용 컴퓨터 본체(예를 들어, 본체 뒷단, 도 4b 참조)에 마련되어 있는 USB 포트에 연결될 수 있는 외부연결단자(23)가 마련되어 있다.
또한, TV신호 수신모듈의 타측에는 s-비디오 입출력단자(25a), 오디오신호의 입출력을 위한 2개의 스테레오단자(25b) 및 비디오입력단자(25c) 등의 복수의 입출력단자들과, 튜너(1)에 접속되어 있는 방송신호 수신용 안테나(25d)가 마련되어 있다.
TV신호 수신모듈 중 튜너(1)를 제외한 TV신호처리모듈(2)들은 TV신호 수신모듈 케이싱 내부에 배치되는데, 튜너(1)를 통해 수신된 아날로그 TV신호가 비디오디 코더(3) 및 오디오디코더(4a)로 입력되도록 튜너(1)에 접속되어 있고, 이와 유사하게, 튜너(1)를 통해 수신된 디지털 TV신호가 제1USB컨트롤러(11a)로 입력되도록 튜너(1)에 접속되어 있다.
또한, 입력된 신호의 디지털 변환의 기능을 수행하는 비디오디코더(3)는 s-비디오 입출력단자(25a) 및 비디오입력단자(25c)와 접속될 수 있다.
TV신호처리모듈(2) 내의 칩들의 배치는 도면에 도시된 것에 한정되는 것은 아니며, 전술한 접속관계만 존재한다면 어떠한 배치도 가능하다.
커넥터(20)는 도 4a에 도시된 바와 같이, 휴대용 컴퓨터에 장착되는 경우에 휴대용 컴퓨터와의 접속을 위한 연결단자로 사용된다. 물론 휴대용 컴퓨터의 배면에도 커넥터(20)와 접속되는 연결단자를 미리 마련해 두어야 한다. 커넥터(20) 및 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터 측의 연결단자는 휴대용 컴퓨터에 접속되는 휴대용 전원공급장치의 커넥터 및 휴대용 컴퓨터 측의 휴대용 전원공급장치용 커넥터의 위치에 인접하여, 바람직하게는 측면에, 별개로 형성되어 있는 것이 바람직하다.
또한, 휴대용 컴퓨터에 장착되는 휴대용 전원공급장치를 제거하고, 그 위치에 TV신호 수신모듈이 장착되므로, 이 경우 휴대용 전원공급장치에 의한 전원공급은 불가능하게 될 것이다. 따라서, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 전원공급은 AC에 의해서 수행되는 것이 바람직하다.
도 4a와 같이 휴대용 컴퓨터의 배면에 장착되는 경우에, 전원입력단자(21)를 통한 TV신호 수신모듈에의 전원공급이 용이하지는 않을 것이다. 이 경우, 커넥터(20)의 다수의 핀 중에 일부는 휴대용 컴퓨터의 USB 포트에 연결되게 하고, 나머지 일부의 핀들은 휴대용 컴퓨터에서 사용하고 있는 전원을 일부 공급받아 사용하게 구성하는 것이 바람직할 것이다.
외부연결단자(23)는 도 4b에 도시된 바와 같이, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 USB포트에 케이블 등을 이용하여 TV신호 수신모듈을 접속할 때 사용된다. 이 경우 휴대용 컴퓨터는 AC 전원을 공급받고 있을 수도 있고, 휴대용 전원공급장치에 의해 전원을 공급받고 있을 수도 있다. 이 때 TV신호 수신모듈은 AC 전원을 공급받고 있는 것이 바람직할 것이다.
이상 설명한 바와 같이, 본 발명에 따르면, 이와 같은 구성을 포함하는 TV신호 수신모듈에 의하여, 하나의 TV신호 수신모듈에서 아날로그 TV신호인 NTSC 및 디지털 TV신호인 ATSC 양자를 모두 수신할 수 있게 된다.
또한, PCI 인터페이스 대신 USB를 이용하여 휴대용 컴퓨터에 접속될 수 있으므로, 휴대용 컴퓨터의 사용 중에도 언제든지 접속하여 TV를 시청할 수 있는 편의를 제공한다.
나아가, 메인보드에 마련된 슬롯에 장착하지 않아도 되므로, 휴대용 컴퓨터에의 접속이 용이하게 된다. 이로써, 본 발명에 따른 TV신호 수신모듈은 슬롯 장착형 보드 형태를 유지하지 않아도 되므로, 다양한 형태로 설계될 수 있는데, 특히 휴대용 컴퓨터의 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 위치에 장착되어 내장형으로 구현가능하다.

Claims (9)

  1. 아날로그 TV신호 및 디지털 TV신호를 수신하는 튜너와;
    상기 튜너가 상기 수신된 아날로그 TV신호로부터 분리해낸 영상신호를 입력받아 화면상에 디스플레이 가능한 신호로 처리하는 비디오 디코더와;
    상기 비디오 디코더에서 처리된 아날로그 영상신호를 압축 포맷으로 저장하기 위한 압축엔진부와;
    상기 압축엔진부에서 압축된 포맷을 저장하기 위한 메모리부와;
    상기 튜너로부터 수신된 상기 디지털 TV신호와 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 제어하는 네트워크연결부가 일체로 형성되어 있으며, 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터의 휴대용 전원공급장치가 장착되는 위치에 장착될 수 있도록 외장이 형성되어 있는 TV신호 수신모듈을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 컴퓨터.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 네트워크연결부는, 상기 디지털 TV신호 및 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 USB포트를 통해 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 컴퓨터.
  3. 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 네트워크연결부는, 상기 디지털 TV신호 및 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 USB포트를 통해 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 각각 별개로 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 컴퓨터.
  4. 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서,
    상기 네트워크연결부는, 상기 디지털 TV신호 및 상기 메모리부에 저장된 영상포맷이 단일의 USB포트를 통해 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송되도록 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 컴퓨터.

    상기 휴대용 컴퓨터에는 상기 휴대용 전원공급장치와 접속되도록 마련된 커넥터에 인접하여 별개로 상기 TV신호 수신모듈과 접속되도록 커넥터가 마련되어 있고, 상기 TV신호 수신모듈은 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터의 상기 TV신호 수신모듈 커넥터에 접속되어 TV신호를 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터로 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 컴퓨터.
  7. 제6항에 있어서,
    상기 TV신호 수신모듈은, 상기 휴대용 컴퓨터에 케이블을 통해 접속가능한 외부연결단자를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 컴퓨터.
