Abstract
Description
Claims (8)
- (a) 기판과;(b) 상기 기판 상에 형성된 하부 클래딩층과; 상기 하부 클래딩층 위에 형성되며, 규소 나노클러스터와 희토류 원소가 공동 도핑된 실리카 또는 실리카 계열물질로 이루어지며, 상기 하부 클래딩층보다 높은 굴절률을 갖는 코어층과; 상기 코어층 상에 형성된 상부 클래딩층;으로 이루어지는 광도파로와;(c) 상기 광도파로의 상부에 이격되게 위치하며, 상기 광도파로를 상부에서 펌핑하는 광원;을 구비하여, 상기 규소 나노클러스터에서 생성되는 전공결합을 통하여 희토류 원소를 여기시킴으로써 작동하는 도파로 증폭기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 광원이 가시광선 영역의 광을 방출하는 것을 특징으로 하는 도파로 증폭기.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 광원이 LED 또는 플래시 램프인 것을 특징으로 하는 도파로 증폭기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 광원의 빔 스폿 내에 복수 개의 광도파로를 배치한 것을 특징으로 하는 도파로 증폭기.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광원으로부터 나온 광을 상기 광도파로에 집속시키기 위한 집속수단을 더 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 도파로 증폭기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 상부 클래딩층 상에 볼록렌즈 모양의 돌출부를 형성하여, 상기 광원으로부터 나온 펌핑광을 굴절에 의해 상기 도파로에 집속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 도파로 증폭기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 도파로의 주변에 거울 표면을 형성하여, 상기 광원으로부터 나온 펌핑광을 반사에 의해 상기 도파로에 집속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 도파로 증폭기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 기판과 하부 클래딩층 사이에 반사를 위한 거울 코팅을 행하여 상기 광원으로부터 나온 펌핑광을 반사에 의해 상기 도파로에 집속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 도파로 증폭기.
