Description
Claims (7)
- 일정한 PMD 값을 그 각각이 가지는 적어도 2개의 편광유지 광섬유 도막들과;상기 편광유지 광섬유 도막들 중에서 이웃하는 것들의 한 쪽을 다른 한쪽에 대해 상대적으로 회전시켜, 복굴절 축이 서로 수직, 일치, 또는 임의의 각도가 되게 정렬시킬 수 있는 기계적 회전수단과;상기 이웃하는 편광유지 광섬유 도막들 사이에 용융 접속되어 있으며, 상기 편광유지 광섬유 도막들의 PMD 값에 비해 무시할 수 있을 정도의 작은 PMD 값을 갖는 단일모드 광섬유;를 구비하는 PMD 발생기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기계적 회전수단으로서 스테핑 모터를 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 PMD 발생기.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 편광유지 광섬유 도막들의 복굴절 축들 사이의 수직, 일치의 정렬 조합에 따라 발생하는 최종 PMD 값에 대한 정보를 내장하고 있고, 사용자가 원하는 PMD 값의 입력에 의해 상기 스테핑 모터들을 구동시키는 제어기를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 PMD 발생기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광유지 광섬유 도막들이 각각 2N-1Tmin의 PMD 값을 가짐으로써 최소 Tmin에서 최대 Tmin(2NMAX-1-1)까지 2Tmin간격으로 PMD 값을 발생시킬 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 PMD 발생기, 단, N은 정수, 1≤N≤NMAX, NMAX는 편광유지 광섬유 도막의 전체 개수로서 2 이상의 정수, Tmin은 최소 PMD 값을 가지는 편광유지 광섬유 도막의 PMD 값.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광유지 광섬유 도막들이 각각 동일한 PMD 값을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 PMD 발생기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광유지 광섬유 도막들이 각각 N2Tmin의 PMD 값을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 PMD 발생기, 단, N은 정수, 2≤N≤NMAX+1, NMAX는 편광유지 광섬유 도막의 전체 개수로서 2 이상의 정수, Tmin은 최소 PMD 값을 가지는 편광유지 광섬유 도막의 PMD 값.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광유지 광섬유 도막들이 각각 동일한 PMD 값을 가지는 제1 군의 편광유지 광섬유 도막들과, 각각 2N-1Tmin의 PMD 값을 가지는 제2 군의편광유지 광섬유 도막들로 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 PMD 발생기, 단, N은 정수, 1≤N≤NMAX, NMAX는 제2 군의 편광유지 광섬유 도막들의 개수로서 2 이상의 정수, Tmin은 제2 군의 편광유지 광섬유 도막들 중에서 최소 PMD 값을 가지는 편광유지 광섬유 도막의 PMD 값.
