Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the production of sintered iron ores having excellent reduction powdering resitance and high reducibility by providing a compsn. layer consisting essentially of a CaO type compd. around the certral nucleus consisting of iron ore or the like and further providing a slag forming compsn. layer around the same.
CONSTITUTION: This spurious particle consists of a central nucleus 1 consisting of iron ore or the like, an intermediate layer 2 consisting of a compsn. consisting essentially of a CaO type compd. around the same, and a shell layer 3 consisting of a slag forming compsn. of ≥1 kind of iron ore or the like, SiO2 compd., and CaO type compds around the same. If powdery coke is compounded with this spurious particle and is sintered, the spurious particle is heated from the circumference by the combustion of coke, by which a slag layer 4 is formed and this covers the surface of the particle. On the other hand, the surface of the nucleus 1 receives reduction effect, but the reaction with CaO is suppressed. In the second half of the sintering process, and oxidative atmosphere is created and therefore Fe2O3 is formed on the surface of the nucleus 1 and reacts with the unreacted CaO of the layer 2, thereby forming calcium ferrite and forming sintered ore of less secondary hematite.
