Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized scanning lens system which is of 65 deg. angle of view and about 1% linearity of scanning and of which aberrations are 1/5-1/6 the influence of diffraction by setting an entrance pupil to the front of a lens system consisting of the 1st biconcave lens and the 2nd biconvex lens and giving 5 numerical value limitations. CONSTITUTION:An ftheta lens system is of two-group-two-element constitution consisting of the 1st lens L1 which is a biconcave lens directing the concave face of a small radius of curvature to the pupil P located in front, and the 2nd lens L2 which is a biconvex lens directing its convex face of a small radius of curvature to the image side. This lens system produces such negative distortions at which the image height H of the parallel luminous fluxes entering at an angle theta with respect to the optical axis with the entrance pupil P as a center attains H=ftheta where the focal length of the entire system is defined as (f). The refractive indices of the respective lenses are limited of numerical values, so that the ftheta lens of a flat image plane is made possible. With refractive indices defined as n1, n2, spacings between refractive faces as d1-d3 and the focal length of the entire system as (f), the equations (1)- (5) are satisfied.
