Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a captioned structure improved in mixing and kneading efficiencies by a method wherein one of pitches of spiral flights of screw shafts is made one half of the same of the other. CONSTITUTION:Molding materials are supplied into a barrel 5 through a hopper and screw shafts 3, 4 having spiral flights 1, 2 are rotated to heat and knead them, subsequently, the molten molding materials are molded by extruding from a die. In this case, a pitch of the flight 2 is made one half of the same of the flight 1 and the respective flights 1, 2 are slidingly contacted with an internal peripheral surface of the barrel 5 and an outer peripheral surface of the other screw shaft. Since the pitches of the flights 1, 2 are different, a flow of the molding materials is made complicated and they are mixed by turbulent flows, accordingly, a kneading efficiency is improved and setting up, decomposition or the like of the materials may be prevented.
