Description

Claims (10)
- 睡眠呼吸障害(SDB)を改善するための治療送達システムであって、
少なくとも1つの電極と、
前記少なくとも1つの電極に電気的に通信する電源と、
前記少なくとも1つの電極に電気的に通信し、患者のSDBを改善するための神経刺激治療案であってメモリ内の記憶又は符号化された指令としての神経刺激治療案を実行することでパルス発生器に第1電気神経調節信号を送達させるようにプログラミングされたコントローラとを含み、
前記神経刺激治療案は、
前記第1電気神経調節信号を咽頭神経叢に送達することにより、1つ又は複数の咽頭収縮筋を支配する舌咽神経の遠心性繊維を活性化することで前記1つ又は複数の咽頭収縮筋を活性化するとともに、茎突咽頭筋を支配する舌咽神経の遠心性繊維を活性化することで前記茎突咽頭筋を活性化するための指令と、
口蓋舌筋、口蓋咽頭筋、前記口蓋舌筋を支配する神経繊維、又は前記口蓋咽頭筋を支配する神経繊維に第4電気神経調節信号を送達するための指令と、
1つ又は複数の舌骨下筋を支配する頸神経ワナを含む標的部位に第2電気神経調節信号を送達するための指令とを含むことを特徴とする睡眠呼吸障害を改善するための治療送達システム。 - 前記頸神経ワナを含む標的部位に第2電気神経調節信号を送達することは、胸骨甲状筋を支配する標的部位に前記第2電気神経調節信号を送達することを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2電気神経調節信号の送達は、前記頸神経ワナの上根の分岐点の近位又は前記分岐点で送達されることを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2電気神経調節信号の送達は、前記頸神経ワナの下根の近位で送達されることを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記頸神経ワナを含む標的部位に前記第2電気神経調節信号を送達することは、肩甲舌骨筋を支配する標的部位に前記第2電気神経調節信号を送達することを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記神経刺激治療案は、
舌下神経(HGN)を含む標的部位に第3電気神経調節信号を送達するための指令を更に含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記舌下神経を含む標的部位に前記第3電気神経調節信号を送達することは、少なくともオトガイ舌筋を支配する舌下神経を含む標的部位に前記第3電気神経調節信号を送達することを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記舌下神経を含む前記標的部位は、前記舌下神経の分岐点及び前記頸神経ワナの上根から遠く離れるか、又は前記舌下神経の分岐点及び前記頸神経ワナの上根にある、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記舌下神経を含む前記標的部位は、舌牽引筋を支配する舌下神経の分岐点から遠く離れる、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記睡眠呼吸障害は、いびき、閉塞性睡眠時無呼吸又はそれらの組み合わせである、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
