Abstract

To provide a waterproof sheet for care that provides a stable covering state on the surface in use, is comfortable to sleep on without worrying about urine leaking onto bedding, and allows caregivers to easily perform care work such as rocking a person being cared for while placed on the sheet, and to easily adjust the position of the sheet.

In caring for such bedridden care recipients, many care sheets such as those disclosed in the above-mentioned Patent Documents 1 to 3 have been developed to reduce the physical burden on caregivers when moving the care recipient's body position, such as turning the care recipient over, changing the sheets on the bedding, and moving the care recipient from one bedding to another, and to improve the quality of life (QOL) of the bedridden care recipient, even if only slightly.

The sliding sheet disclosed in Patent Document 1 is installed on the surface of a hospital bed, for example, and has the above-mentioned configuration.
When a caregiver operates the handle of the sliding sheet to change the position of the care recipient on the sliding sheet, the care recipient can easily change their position and turn over without accidentally slipping on the sliding sheet, which reduces the physical burden on both the caregiver and the care recipient (paragraphs 0005 and 0011 of Patent Document 1). The nursing sheet disclosed in Patent Document 2 is a sheet used in place of a normal sheet that covers the used surface of the bedding, and with the above-mentioned configuration, when placed on the used surface of the bedding, the sheet body is fixed to the bedding, an auxiliary sheet and a waterproof sheet are layered on top of the sheet body, and the sheet body, auxiliary sheet and waterproof sheet are sewn together at one of the fixed side edges (Patent Document 2, paragraph 0008).

When the person being cared for is placed on the nursing sheet fixed to the bedding, the waterproof sheet prevents food and drink from scattering around the person being cared for as the person moves, and prevents the sheet itself from becoming contaminated by urine leakage, etc., and contaminated waterproof sheets can be replaced as appropriate (Patent Document 2, paragraphs 0006, 0015, 0017).

The caregiver can lift one side of the auxiliary sheet and the waterproof sheet using the handles attached to the sides to allow the person being cared for to turn over on the auxiliary sheet and the waterproof sheet (Patent Document 2, paragraphs 0006 and 0011).

Two caregivers, one on each side, can lift both sides of the auxiliary sheet and the waterproof sheet using the handles provided on both sides and move the person being cared for on the auxiliary sheet and the waterproof sheet to other bedding (Patent Document 2, paragraph 0014).

In the sliding sheet disclosed in Patent Document 3, for example, when the fabric of Examples 1 to 5 of Patent Document 3 is used as a sliding sheet with the sliding surface on the inside, it does not require a large force to start moving, and the user can move safely with little force while moving. Since the user is standing on the non-sliding surface, the user can move safely without slipping off the sliding sheet during movement (Patent Document 3, paragraph 0047).

However, as nursing care technology becomes more sophisticated and stretchers for transporting patients become more ingenious, the following problems have arisen with nursing care seats such as those disclosed in Patent Documents 1 to 3.

(1) It is assumed that the care recipient can be moved and transferred to other bedding, a care chair, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "moving and transferring the care recipient").

(1-2) As in Patent Documents 1 and 2, in order to use the sheet as a stretcher-like transport sheet when moving or transferring the care recipient from one bedding to another, a strong sheet is used, or a sheet that comes into contact with the care recipient lying on his/her back is laminated and integrated with a sheet that performs another function, so that the entire sheet becomes hard and the physical sensation for the care recipient is impaired.

The base sheet (1) is made of a material that does not allow moisture to penetrate into the base sheet (1), and is preferably made of non-absorbent synthetic fibers or synthetic resin films.

It is preferable that the base sheet (1) itself is water-repellent or that the front (1A) and back (1B) of the base sheet (1) are treated to be water-repellent so that urine leakage from the care recipient (from the disposable diapers normally worn by bedridden care recipients) does not seep through the base sheet (1) and contaminate the surface (MA) of the bedding.

The base sheet (1) may be moisture permeable to reduce stuffiness of the person being cared for.

As described above, the present invention is advantageous for a care recipient who sleeps on his/her back and who rarely moves to another bed to change his/her position on the bed, and for the caregiver who sleeps on his/her back,

Preferred examples of plain weave fabrics include Oxford, chambray, broadcloth, sheeting, weathercloth, and canvas, with Oxford fabric being woven with two warp threads and two weft threads. It has relatively many gaps, so it is breathable, light, and soft, making it more preferred.

<Anti-slip surface (2)>

The anti-slip surface (2) may be installed on the back surface (1B) by directly processing it with a coating process or the like, or it may be installed by attaching a fabric or film such as a knitted or woven fabric having an anti-slip function.

As a method for directly processing the back surface (1B), a resin with a high static friction coefficient is applied to the back surface (1B).
Examples of the coating process include coating processes such as roll coating, gravure coating, and spray coating, lamination processes such as powder lamination, and spray processing. For example, in the case of coating processes, the entire surface may be coated, or partial processing such as dot processing or net processing may be performed.

Resins with a high static friction coefficient include synthetic resins such as polyester resin and acrylic resin, and rubber-based resins such as butadiene rubber and acrylic rubber. In particular, dot processing of rubber-based resins is preferable because it has a large anti-slip function, is flexible, and allows the amount used to be reduced, thereby reducing the application area.

Examples of attaching a film or the like having anti-slip properties include forming a resin with a high coefficient of static friction into a thin film or net-like sheet, cutting it to fit the part on the back surface (1B), and applying heat to the part on the back surface (1B), gluing it, sewing it, or removably adhering it with double-sided tape, etc.

The anti-slip surface (2) is provided on the back surface (1B) of the bedding from the viewpoints of ease of pulling out the base sheet (1) by the caregiver and difficulty of twisting the base sheet (1) against the front surface (MA) of the bedding.
It is preferable that the position is from the head to the shoulders of the care recipient placed on the surface (1A) of the base sheet (1),

The anti-slip surface (2) may be provided over the entire width of the back surface (1B) or, from the viewpoint of making it easier for the caregiver to pull out the base sheet (1), may be provided only partially rather than over the entire width.

From the viewpoints of ease of pulling out the base sheet (1) by the caregiver and difficulty of twisting it against the surface (MA) of the bedding, it is preferable that the anti-slip surface (2) is provided in the width direction of the back surface (1B) and that the anti-slip surface (2) is not provided in the length direction in the central portion (Figure 3).

For example, as shown in Figures 3(a) and (b), two anti-slip surfaces (2) may be placed apart (in two locations) toward both side edges of the base sheet (1).

The distance d between adjacent side edges of the anti-slip surfaces (2) placed apart is preferably 3 to 20 cm, more preferably 5 to 15 cm, and even more preferably 8 to 12 cm (Figure 3).

The shape of the areas of the anti-slip surface (2) that are spaced apart may be rectangular, circular or elliptical, or star-shaped, as shown in Figure 3, and may be any shape as long as the effect of the present invention is not impaired (Figure 3).

When the bedding has a back-raising function and the part of the bedding on which the head, back and waist are placed can be manually or electrically raised from the horizontal (θ=0) to an angle θ (>0) with respect to the horizontal (Figure 2(c)),

When the head end (1HE) of the base sheet (1) is pulled up toward the head end of the bedding, the position of the care recipient's body and the nursing care waterproof sheet can be easily returned to the head end of the bedding (Figure 2 (d)).

《Gripping part (3)》
In the present invention, in order to allow the caregiver to easily turn the care recipient over or pull out the base sheet (1) while the care recipient is placed on the surface (1A) of the base sheet (1),
It is preferable that a grip portion (3) is provided at least on one side, and preferably on both sides, of the both side ends of the base sheet (1) near the head side end (1HE) (FIG. 3).
Furthermore, it is preferable that a grip portion (3) is provided on at least one side, and preferably both sides, of both side ends of the base sheet (1) near the foot side end (1FE) (FIG. 3).

The gripping portion (3) may be in the form of a string or a ring, from the viewpoint of ease of gripping by the caregiver, but is preferably in the form of a ring.

The gripping portion (3) is preferably made of cloth, nonwoven fabric, resin, etc., with sufficient strength to prevent tearing or damage when the caregiver pulls or pulls out the base sheet (1), and is preferably molded integrally with the base sheet (1), or bonded to the side edge of the base sheet (1) with an adhesive, or bonded by sewing.

The absorbent sheet (4) may be made of absorbent knitted fabric, woven fabric, toweling, or other fabric, absorbent nonwoven fabric, or a highly absorbent sheet incorporating highly absorbent polymers or fibers.

《Bedding (M)》
In the present invention, bedding (M) refers to a covering on whose surface (MA) a care recipient lies, such as a futon or mat, which is laid directly on the floor or incorporated into a bed.

The bedding has a back-raising function, and the parts of the bedding on which the head, back and waist are placed are:
In some cases (FIG. 2(c)), the back of the person being cared for can be raised manually or electrically from the horizontal (θ=0) at an angle θ (>0) to the horizontal (FIGS. 2(c) and 2(d)).

The present invention shown in Figures 5, 6-1, and 6-2 was manufactured using the following materials and under the following manufacturing conditions.

(1) Materials The materials for the base sheet (1), the anti-slip surface (2) and the gripping portion (3) were all purchased from Yuzawaya (Kamata store).

(1-1) Base sheet (1)
(1-1-1) Material and composition: Nylon oxford sheet with acrylic coating and water-repellent finish (nylon plain woven oxford sheet)

(2) Manufacturing conditions (2-1) Base sheet (1)
The base sheet (1) is cut with scissors to a width of 103 cm and a length of 107 cm.
The cut portions in the length direction were hemmed and sewn with acrylic thick twill tape (40 mm wide), and the cut portions in the width direction were hemmed and sewn with bias tape (40 mm wide).

(2-2) Anti-slip surface (2)
A polyvinyl chloride raised-dot geometric grid net was cut with scissors to two cut sheets measuring 43 cm wide and 25 cm long. These were placed at predetermined locations on the base sheet (1) shown in Figure 5 so that d = 10 cm, and the edges of each cut sheet were sewn to the base sheet (1) to attach them.

(2-3) Gripping part (3)
A 5 cm wide thick twill acrylic tape was cut to a length of 50 cm with scissors, and both ends were folded by 5 cm, and the thick twill acrylic tape was sandwiched in the lengthwise direction and sewn.

(2-4) Water-absorbent sheet (4)
Ten pieces of 2 cm wide hook-and-loop fasteners were cut to lengths of 25 cm.
At the predetermined positions shown in FIG. 5, the loop surface was sewn to the back surface of the base sheet (1), and the periphery of the hook surface was sewn to the waterproof surface side of the water-absorbent sheet (4).

(3) Try-on situation (3-1) Care recipient: A 26-year-old male (weight 55 kg) who is bedridden due to muscular dystrophy.
(3-2) Bedding: A mat placed on a hospital motorized bed with a back-raising function.

(3-3) Usage and Effects (3-3-1) Lying Down The length direction of the nursing care manipulative waterproof sheet of the present invention is aligned with the length direction of a mat, the nursing care manipulative waterproof sheet is laid on the mat, and the person being cared for, wearing a disposable diaper, is made to lie on his back with the head end (1HE) of the base sheet (1) aligned with the head position as shown in Figure 2 (a).

(3-3-2) Back Raising When the upper body of the care recipient is raised at a certain angle using the back-raising function of the bed, if the angle θ is large, the upper body of the care recipient and the nursing care manipulative waterproof sheet do not move with the mat and slide down toward the foot end of the mat; however, by pulling up the head end (1HE) of the base sheet (1) to the head end (1HE) of the mat, the positions of the care recipient's body and the nursing care manipulative waterproof sheet can be returned to the head end (1HE) of the mat (Fig. 2 (c) (d)).

(3-3-3) Movement of the lower limbs The absorbent sheet (4) is fixed to the waterproof sheet for care with a hook-and-loop fastener.
It does not flip up or slip when the legs move.

(3-3-4) Leaks from the excretory area The absorbent sheet (4) is fixed to the waterproof sheet for nursing care with a hook-and-loop fastener.
Since the diaper does not slip off from the lower back and buttocks of the person being cared for at all times, even if excrement leaks out of the disposable diaper, it will not leak out from the absorbent sheet (4) onto the mat and contaminate the mat with excrement.

(3-3-5) Changing position (turning over)
Even with just one caregiver,
The care recipient can easily change position (turn over) by lifting the base sheet (1) by grasping one or both of the two gripping parts on one side of the care-giving waterproof sheet,
This was able to alleviate the pain that care recipients experience from staying in the same position for long periods of time.

(3-3-6) Chiropractic Even with just one caregiver,
Grasp one of the grips on each side of the care-giving waterproof sheet at the waist (pelvis) of the care recipient (total of two grips) and pull the grips upward alternately.
Both sides of the base sheet (1) are lifted up alternately, allowing the waist of the person being cared for to swing left and right.
It was possible to prevent bedsores and blood flow disorders in the care recipients and to relax the lower back.

(3-3-7) Stable position of base sheet (1) Since the base sheet (1) has an anti-slip surface (2) on the head end (1HE) side, the position of the base sheet (1) in relation to the mat is stable and the upper body of the person being cared for is less likely to slip down when lifting up.

(3-4) Replacing the absorbent sheet (4) (3-4-1) Lay the person in a side-lying position, remove the hook-and-loop fastener from the left or right half of the absorbent sheet (4), and tuck it under the person’s body.
(3-4-2) Lay half of a new absorbent sheet (4) in the space that was just peeled off.
(3-4-3) Place the remaining half under the person being cared for.
(3-4-4) Turn the person over and remove the contaminated absorbent sheet (4) by peeling it off from the hook-and-loop fastener.
(3-4-5) Spread out one half of the new absorbent sheet (4) and secure it with hook-and-loop fastener.
(3-4-6) Return the person being cared for to their original position.

(3-5) Replacing the base sheet (1) (3-5-1) Lay the care recipient on his/her side and pull the sheet close to and under the body.
(3-5-2) Align the edge of the new sheet with the edge of the mat (lengthwise), spread out one half of it, and then tuck the remaining half under the person being cared for.
(3-5-3) When it is time to turn the person around, remove the old sheet and lay out a new one.

(4) Comparison with the case where the present invention is not used (4-1) Since the anti-slip surface is located on the head end (1HE) side of the person being cared for, when the angle of the bed is raised and the back is raised, the upper body of the person being cared for is less likely to slip downward, and since the anti-slip surface is not located in the center in the width direction, it is easier to pull the head end (1HE) of the base sheet (1) up to the head end (1HE) of the mat (FIGS. 2(b) and 2(c)).

(4-2) The base sheet (1) has grips on both sides near the waist and buttocks, so that minor body position changes can be safely and easily performed by a single caregiver (even if the care recipient is large in stature).
Even if the person receiving care has difficulty changing their position by themselves, the caregiver can rock the lower back and buttocks of the person receiving care through the waterproof care chiropractic sheet, thereby helping to reduce pain and prevent bedsores and blood flow disorders.

(4-3) The absorbent sheet (4) is fixed to the base sheet (1) with a hook-and-loop fastener.
The absorbent sheet (4) is unlikely to turn over or shift due to movement of the lower limbs or shifting of the body, so that even if urine leaks from the disposable diaper, it will remain within the range of the absorbent sheet (4) and contamination of the mat can be prevented.

(4-4) The absorbent sheet (4) can be attached and detached with a hook-and-loop fastener, so that it can be easily replaced even if it becomes contaminated with excrement.

(4-5) QOL of care recipients and caregivers
(4-5-1) The waterproof sheet for caregiving of the present invention can be safely and easily operated by a single caregiver, allowing a caregiver to respond immediately to complaints of pain from the care recipient and reducing the physical and mental burden on the care recipient from various operations performed by the caregiver.
(4-5-2) In response to the body movements of the care recipient, the waterproof sheet for care adjustment of the present invention is stably placed on the mat and the body of the care recipient, reducing the slippage of the care recipient's body from the mat and the slippage of the absorbent sheet (4). This makes it easier to change positions and adjust the body, reducing the physical burden on the caregiver and creating more mental space.
