Description

[0003]身体の熱を着用者の身体の表面の方に向けて反射することにより向上した断熱を提供する材料は、しばしば、透湿性を犠牲にし、結果的に低い通気性になる。そのような透湿性の低減は、布を湿らせ、不快感を引き起こし、熱伝導による熱損失を加速させることがある。加えて、熱反射材料と皮膚との間の接触は、好ましくないことに、熱反射材料が身体の熱を皮膚から遠ざかるように導くことを可能にし、したがって、意図せずに熱損失を加速させる。

[0044]様々な実施形態では、本明細書に記載の断熱材料は、VOF要素がない熱反射材料を含む材料を含む他の断熱材料と比べて優れた断熱特性を有することができる。以下の表1に示されるように、4つの異なるベース材料が、標準的なホットプレート試験を用いて試験された。3つの異なる構成である、熱反射要素又はVOF要素なし(「布」)、熱反射要素のみ(「布+熱反射要素」)、熱反射要素とVOF要素両方(「布+熱反射要素+垂直配向繊維」)の構成にある4つの異なるベース材料のサンプルが試験された。熱流束(W)及び乾燥熱伝達率(W/m2℃)が測定され、平均断熱値(clo=0.155K・m2・W-1)がそれぞれについて計算された。本明細書で使用されるような用語「熱」は、温度勾配により輸送される熱エネルギー(J又はCal)を指す。本明細書で使用されるような用語「発熱率」は、単位時間あたりに輸送される熱エネルギー(J/s=W)を指す。本明細書で使用されるような用語「熱流束」は、単位面積あたりの発熱率を指す。本明細書で使用されるような用語「熱伝達係数(thermal transmittance)」は、単位温度勾配あたりの熱流束(W/m2・K)を指す。本明細書で使用されるような用語「熱抵抗」は、熱伝達係数の逆数(m2・K/W)であり、0.155m2・K/Wであるcloは、断熱値の測定の単位である。制限された伝導の熱反射材料の特定の例の試験結果は、以下の表1に示されている。
Claims (23)
- 少なくとも2000g/m2/24時(JIS 1099 A1)の透湿度(MVTR)を有するベース材料と、
前記ベース材料の第1の面に結合された複数の熱反射要素であって、各熱反射要素が、熱反射面を有し、熱をその下に位置する表面の方に向けて反射するように位置決めされている、複数の熱反射要素と、
前記ベース材料の前記第1の面に結合された複数のスペーサ要素であって、各スペーサ要素が、前記熱反射要素とその下に位置する表面の接触を減少させるようなサイズ及び形状である、複数のスペーサ要素と
を備え、
前記スペーサ要素が、垂直配向繊維(VOF)要素を備える、断熱材料。 - 前記スペーサ要素が、前記ベース材料の前記第1の面から約0.2~2.0mm突出している、請求項1に記載の断熱材料。
- 各垂直配向繊維要素が、前記ベース材料の表面に対して実質的に垂直に向けられた複数の繊維を備え、前記複数の垂直配向繊維要素のうちの少なくともいくつかが、前記複数の熱反射要素のうちの少なくともいくつかに少なくとも部分的にかぶさっている、請求項1に記載の断熱材料。
- 前記繊維が、ナイロン又はポリエステル繊維を備える、請求項3に記載の断熱材料。
- 前記繊維が、ウィッキング繊維を備える、請求項3に記載の断熱材料。
- 前記繊維が、0.9~22dtexの平均線密度を有する、請求項3に記載の断熱材料。
- 前記熱反射要素が、金属、金属蒸着されたプラスチック、又は金属箔を備える、請求項1に記載の断熱材料。
- 熱反射要素とベース材料の表面領域比率が、7:3~3:7である、請求項1に記載の断熱材料。

前記繊維が、0.3~1.0mmの平均長さ、及び5~10dtexの平均直径を有するポリエステル繊維を備え、
前記熱反射要素が、金属蒸着されたプラスチック又は金属箔を備え、

- 前記複数の垂直配向繊維要素を前記ベース材料の前記第1の面に結合するステップが、
接着剤を所望のパターンで前記ベース材料に適用することと、
前記繊維を前記ベース材料上に静電気的に堆積させることと、
接着されたかった繊維を前記ベース材料から除去することと
を含む、請求項19に記載の方法。 - 前記複数の垂直配向繊維要素を前記ベース材料の前記第1の面に結合するステップが、
前記繊維を複数の転写要素に静電気的に結合することと、
