Description
図5は、上記実施の形態の変形例1における移動体用照灯102の構成を示す。移動体用照灯102では、ビームスプリッタ12によって第1光路S1及び第2光路S2に分離された偏光のいずれか一方の光路上に1/2波長板24が配置される。
図6は、上記実施の形態の変形例2における移動体用照灯104の構成を示す。移動体用照灯104では、移動体用照灯102と同様に、ビームスプリッタ12によって第1光路S1及び第2光路S2に分離された偏光のいずれか一方の光路上に1/2波長板24が配置される。
図7は、上記実施の形態の変形例3における移動体用照灯106の構成を示す。移動体用照灯106では、液晶素子18として2つの液晶素子18aと液晶素子18bとを設ける。すなわち、第1光路S1上に液晶素子18aを配置し、第2光路S2上に液晶素子18bを配置する
図8は、上記実施の形態の変形例4における移動体用照灯108の構成を示す。移動体用照灯108では、ビームスプリッタ12として第1光路S1上に配置されるビームスプリッタ12a及び第2光路S2上に配置されるビームスプリッタ12bを設ける。ビームスプリッタ12aは、光源10から入射される光を第1光路S1及び第2光路S2の2つに分離する。移動体用照灯108では、例えば、ビームスプリッタ12aは、光源10から入射された光を紙面に垂直な偏光成分に分離して液晶素子18cに向かう第1光路S1に反射させると共に、紙面に平行な偏光成分に分離してビームスプリッタ12bに向かう第2光路S2に透過させる。ビームスプリッタ12bは、ビームスプリッタ12aから入射された光を液晶素子18dに向かう第2光路S2に反射させる。
図9は、上記実施の形態の変形例5における移動体用照灯110の構成を示す。移動体用照灯110では、ビームスプリッタ12を透過する第2光路S2に反射鏡14、レンズ22bを順に備える。
Claims (14)
- 入射光を2つの偏光に分離し、前記偏光の両方を利用する移動体用照灯であって、
吸収層を有する吸収型ワイヤーグリッド偏光子が少なくとも1つ配置され、
前記入射光を前記偏光に分離するビームスプリッタと、
前記偏光の光路上に配置された液晶素子と、
前記液晶素子の入射面側に配置された第1ワイヤーグリッド偏光子と、前記液晶素子の出射面側に配置された第2ワイヤーグリッド偏光子と、
を備え、
前記第1ワイヤーグリッド偏光子が吸収層を有する吸収型ワイヤーグリッド偏光子であることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記吸収型ワイヤーグリッド偏光子は、前記液晶素子に対向する面に前記吸収層が配置されていることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記ビームスプリッタは、第3ワイヤーグリッド偏光子を含み、
前記第3ワイヤーグリッド偏光子は、前記吸収型ワイヤーグリッド偏光子であって、光の出射面側に前記吸収層が配置されていることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記吸収型ワイヤーグリッド偏光子は、金属からなるワイヤーグリッドを備え、
前記吸収層は、前記ワイヤーグリッドの上面又は下面において前記ワイヤーグリッドの形状に合わせて形成されていることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項4に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記吸収層は、二色性染料によって染色されたポリビニルアルコールフィルムを延伸させた染料系偏光層であることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項5に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記吸収層は、前記ワイヤーグリッドの上面に形成されており、前記ワイヤーグリッドの延設方向と偏光の透過軸が平行であることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記液晶素子は、低温ポリシリコン層からなる駆動素子によって液晶が駆動されることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記偏光のいずれか一方の光路上に1/2波長板が配置されていることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項8に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記第1ワイヤーグリッド偏光子の入射面側に前記1/2波長板が配置されていることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記液晶素子は、前記偏光の一方の光路上に配置された第1液晶素子と、前記偏光の他方の光路上に配置された第2液晶素子と、からなることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記吸収型ワイヤーグリッド偏光子は、前記入射光に対して透明なグリッド状の構造体と、前記構造体の隙間に埋め込まれて前記入射光に対して不透明な微粒子と、からなることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記吸収型ワイヤーグリッド偏光子は、消衰係数k及び層厚dとしたときに消衰係数kと層厚dの積kdが200nm以上の非導電性材料を含むことを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記液晶素子は、反射型液晶素子であることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。 - 請求項1に記載の移動体用照灯であって、
前記ワイヤーグリッド偏光子を透過した光の光路上に、夜間にその前方40mの距離にある交通上の障害物を確認することに最適な照射が可能なレンズを備えることを特徴とする移動体用照灯。
