Description

細長い前駆体研磨粒子を細長い研磨粒子に変換することと、を含む。
用語「アスペクト比」は、平均長さ対平均厚さの比を指し;
形容詞「細長い」は、少なくとも2のアスペクト比を有することを意味し;
用語「破断表面」は、破断プロセスによって形成された表面を指し(例えば、切断面状の特徴部、筋状痕、及び/又は切断面によって特徴付けられてもよい);
用語「成形表面」は、成形プロセスを通して形成され、それを製造するために使用される成形表面と相補的な形状を有する表面を指し;

平行な線状溝を有するモールドを準備することであって、平行な線状溝が、横断方向の障害物によって所定の間隔で部分的に中断されている、モールドを準備することと、
平行な線状溝の少なくとも一部分を流動性研磨粒子前駆体組成物で充填することであって、流動性研磨粒子前駆体組成物が平行な線状溝のうちの少なくとも1つの中にある、充填することと、
流動性研磨粒子前駆体組成物を少なくとも部分的に乾燥させて、少なくとも部分的に乾燥させた研磨粒子前駆体組成物を形成することと、
少なくとも部分的に乾燥させた研磨粒子前駆体組成物をモールドから分離することにより、横断方向の障害物の間に配接された平行な線状溝の部分に対応する形状を有する細長い前駆体研磨粒子を形成することであって、所定の間隔が細長い前駆体研磨粒子の長さに対応し、細長い前駆体研磨粒子の対向する第1及び第2の端部のうちの少なくとも一方が、成形部分及び破断部分の両方を含む、細長い前駆体研磨粒子を形成することと、
細長い前駆体研磨粒子を細長い研磨粒子に変換することと、を含む。
以下のレシピを使用してベーマイトゾル-ゲルのサンプルを作製した:1600部のDISPERAL酸化アルミニウム一水和物粉末(Sasol North America Inc.,Houston,Texas)を、2400部の脱イオン水及び72部の70%硝酸水溶液を含有する溶液を高剪断混合することによって分散させた。得られたゾル-ゲルを、1時間エージングした。図2に示すように、ゾル-ゲルを、障害物(すなわち、2.75mmの規則的な間隔で離間された0.917mmの高さの壁)によって中断された平行な線状溝(頂部1.15mm、深さ1.00mm、底部出の幅0.15mm)を含有するポリプロピレン工具に押し込んだ。障害物は、溝の壁と同じ垂直高さまで延びなかった。
Claims (9)
- 少なくとも1つのバインダー中に保持された細長い研磨粒子を含む研磨物品であって、前記細長い研磨粒子は、少なくとも2つの長手方向に配向された連続表面によって境界付けられたセラミック本体と、前記少なくとも2つの長手方向に配向された表面によって分離された第1及び第2の端部と、を含み、前記第1及び第2の端部のうちの少なくとも一方が、成形部分と破断部分との両方を含む、研磨物品。
- 前記研磨物品が、結合研磨物品を含む、請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記細長い研磨粒子が、αアルミナを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記少なくとも2つの長手方向に配向された連続表面が、3つ又は4つの長手方向に配向された表面を含む、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載された研磨物品。
- 前記細長い研磨粒子が、実質的に三角形又は台形の横断面を有する、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載された研磨物品。
- 前記細長い研磨粒子の対向する前記第1及び第2の端部の両方が、成形部分及び破断部分の両方を含む、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記破断部分が、突出部を含む、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記細長い研磨粒子が、少なくとも2の長さ対幅比を有する、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記細長い研磨粒子が、研磨工業規格の公称等級に適合する、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
