Description
ここで、保持器と外輪との間を完全に分離させる潤滑油膜があれば、保持器と外輪とが直接接触しない状態で摺動する流体潤滑状態となる。このような潤滑油膜を保持器と外輪との間で保つことにより、保持器及び外輪間を流体潤滑状態にすることができる。
図1~5に示すように、第1実施形態の転がり軸受10は、外輪1と、回転軸2を保持する内輪3と、内輪3と外輪1との間に介在するボールである転動体4と、転動体4を回転自在に保持する保持器5を備えている。すなわち、転がり軸受10は、玉軸受である。なお、以下の説明において、転がり軸受10の中心軸C(図1の一点鎖線の交点に軸心を示し、図2の二点鎖線で軸線を示す。)に沿った方向を「軸方向」、当該中心軸Cに対して直交する方向を「径方向」と呼ぶ。
なお、回転軸2は、トランスミッションの回転軸以外であってもよく、例えば電気自動車、ハイブリッド自動車に搭載されるモータの主軸、工作機の回転軸であってもよい。因みに、電気自動車、ハイブリッド自動車に搭載されるモータの主軸又は工作機の回転軸を支持する軸受は、dmn値が60万以上、より高速の使用条件では150万を超える回転領域で使用される。
隆条部5bが周方向に短い間隔(ここでは、2.6mm以下)で並んでいると、保持器5の外周面5aの周方向全周に亘って油膜が連続する状態に保たれ、各隆条部5bとの間のくさび効果が途絶えることなく生じ、保持器5と外輪1とが油膜によって完全に分離されて直接接触しない状態(すなわち流体潤滑状態)で軸受運転を行うことが可能となる。流体潤滑状態では、保持器及び外輪が実質的に摩耗せず、保持器及び外輪の摺動による発熱を抑えることができる。
したがって、従来では達成できなかった転がり軸受10の高速回転の要求にも応えることが可能となる。

- 外輪と、
回転軸を保持する内輪と、
前記外輪と前記内輪との間に介在する転動体と、
前記転動体を回転自在に保持して、前記外輪に案内される保持器と、を備え、
前記保持器は、軸方向から視て、無端環状であり、
前記保持器には、その外周面に径方向外側に突出する複数の隆条部が周方向に全周に亘って0.3mm以上2.6mm以下の間隔をあけて設けられ、
前記隆条部は、軸方向に延び、又は周方向に対して傾斜する方向に延び、
前記隆条部が、前記外輪の内周面に潤滑油を介して接触可能に設けられている、転がり軸受。 - 前記隆条部が、半円柱状の頂部を有するものである請求項1に記載の転がり軸受。
- 前記保持器が、黄銅もみ抜き保持器である請求項1または2に記載の転がり軸受。
- 請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の転がり軸受と、
前記回転軸と、を備え、
前記転がり軸受のピッチ円径dmと回転数nとの積であるdmn値が60万以上である、軸受構造。
