研磨製品は、柔らかく、塗装された表面などの仕上げにくい材料を含む、広範な基材をサンディングするのに使用される。衝突修復市場用のコーティングされた研磨剤の用途は非常に広く、洗浄、コーティング除去、充填剤成形、金属造形、金属への塗装ストリップ、プライマーサンディング、塗料調製、塗料仕上げなどが挙げられる。

W-985:酸性ポリエステル界面活性剤、Altana AG(ヴェッセル、ドイツ)から商品名「BYK W-985」で得た
ホットメルト配合及びコーティング組成物を、50又は250グラム容量の加熱された混合ヘッド及び混練要素が搭載されたBRABENDERミキサー(C.W.Brabender Instruments,Inc.(ハッケンサック、ニュージャージー州)を用いて調製した。ミキサーを望ましい混合温度、120~150℃で稼動させ、混練要素を100rpmで動作させた。最初にアクリルコポリマーを添加し、数分間混合した。固体エポキシ樹脂及びヒドロキシ官能性フィルム形成ポリマーを添加し、混合物全体が均一な分布となるまで混合した。液体エポキシ樹脂、ポリオール、及びシラン材料を、均一な分布となるまで、徐々に添加した。得られた混合物を数分間攪拌し、次に光酸発生剤を滴加した。混合物を数分間攪拌し、次に、アルミニウムパンへ移し、冷却した。材料の塊を2つの剥離ライナの間に置き、液圧プレス(Carver Inc.(ウォバシュ、インディアナ州))を用いて、95℃まで加熱しながら押圧し、0.6mm厚のフィルムにした。
ループバッキング研磨コーティング樹脂を、実施例1に全般的に記載しているように調製し、ここで、P180 FSX鉱物を、P180 FSXとSAP研磨鉱物との90:10(重量による)ブレンドに置き換えた。
ループバッキング研磨コーティング樹脂を、表1に列挙する組成に従って、実施例1に全般的に記載しているように調製した。
3M Companyから商品名「P180 270J」及び「P180 734U」で得た6インチ(15.24cm)ループバッキング研磨ディスクを、それぞれ比較例A及びBとして使用した。
研磨性能試験を、ACT Laboratories,Inc.(ヒルスデール、ミシガン州)から得たNEXA OEM型クリアコートを伴う18インチ×24インチ(45.7cm×61cm)の黒色塗装冷間圧延鋼試験板上で評価した。試験の目的で、研磨ディスクを、3M Companyから商品名「HOOKIT BACKUP PAD、部品番号05865」で市販されている6インチ(15.2cm)バックアップパッドに取り付けた。X-Yテーブル上に配置され、6000rpm及び3/16インチ(4.76mm)ストロークで作動するサーボ制御モータの二作用軸を用いてサンディングを実施し、研磨物品を15ポンド(6.80Kg)の荷重で、パネルに対して2.5°の角度で押し付けた。次いで、ツールを、長さに沿って3.5インチ/分(8.89cm/分)の速度で横断させ、次いでパネルの幅を合計1分間横断させた。このような、パネルの長さ及び幅に沿った4つのサイクルが完了し、合計4分間のサンディング時間が完了した。パネルの質量を各サイクルの前後で測定して、各サイクルのグラム単位の合計質量損失量、並びに4サイクルの終わりの累積質量損失量(合計切削量)を求めた。第3のパス重量を第1のパス重量で除算して切削寿命を計算し、試験中の性能低下を示した。平均表面仕上げ(Ra)を、Mahr Federal Inc.(プロビデンス、ロードアイランド州)製の接触粗面計モデル「PERTHOMETER M2」を用いて5箇所で測定した。
実施例1及び2並びに比較例Bの38×50mmの断片を、Frank-PTI GmbH(ビルケナウ、ドイツ)から得た実験室フレックス試験機を用いて曲げモードにおいて試験した。試料を、0.005Nの予力及び10秒の保持時間でクランプした。曲げ試験を1秒当たり3°から最大で60°の角度で実施し、試験距離は20mmとした。表3に列挙した結果は、1試料当たり3つの測定値の平均を表す。
Claims (10)
- 硬化性組成物であって、
(a)25℃及び1Hzの周波数での複素粘度が少なくとも約4500Pa-sである重合性エポキシ-アクリレート樹脂組成物と、
(b)前記重合性エポキシ-アクリレート樹脂成分中に部分的に又は完全に埋め込まれた研磨粒子と、
を含む、組成物。 - 前記重合性エポキシ-アクリレート樹脂成分が、テトラヒドロフルフリル(THF)(メタ)アクリレートコポリマー成分と、1又は複数のエポキシ樹脂と、1又は複数のヒドロキシ官能性ポリエーテルと、を含む、請求項1に記載の硬化性組成物。
- 1又は複数の光重合開始剤を更に含む、請求項1又は2に記載の硬化性組成物。
- 前記THF(メタ)アクリレートコポリマー成分が、1又は複数のTHF(メタ)アクリレートモノマーと、1又は複数のC1~C8(メタ)アクリレートエステルモノマーと、1又は複数の任意選択のカチオン反応性官能性(メタ)アクリレートモノマーと、を含む、請求項2又は3に記載の硬化性組成物。
- 前記THF(メタ)アクリレートコポリマー成分が、(A)40~60重量%のテトラヒドロフルフリル(メタ)アクリレートと、(B)40~60重量%のC1~C8アルキル(メタ)アクリレートエステルモノマーと、(C)0~10重量%のカチオン反応性官能性モノマーとの、重合モノマー単位を含み、(A)~(C)の和がTHFAコポリマーの100重量%である、請求項2~4のいずれか一項に記載の硬化性組成物。
- 前記硬化性組成物が、i)約15~約50重量部の前記THF(メタ)アクリレートコポリマー成分と、ii)約25~約50重量部の前記1又は複数のエポキシ樹脂と、iii)約5~約15重量部の前記1又は複数のヒドロキシ官能性ポリエーテルと、iv)約10~約25重量部の範囲の1又は複数のヒドロキシル含有フィルム形成ポリマーと、を含み、i)~iv)の和が100重量部であり、v)i)~iv)の100部に対して約0.1~約5重量部の光重合開始剤を含む、請求項2~5のいずれか一項に記載の硬化性組成物。
- 前記研磨粒子が、前記硬化組成物中に部分的に又は完全に埋め込まれている、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の硬化性組成物から形成された硬化組成物。
