Description

pH7で中性又はカチオン性の正味電荷、2,500,000~18,000,000g/molの重量平均分子量及び4~28モル%の全イオン性(total ionicity)を有する両性ポリアクリルアミドを含む水溶性ポリマー製品を繊維懸濁液に添加して、疎水性物質に起因する堆積物形成を抑制することを特徴とする方法である。ポリマー製品を繊維懸濁液に添加する前に、ポリマー製品を水に溶解するか又は水で希釈して水性処理溶液を得るのが好ましい。

スティキィについての測定は、パルプ試料を採取し、1%のコンシステンシーに希釈して行う。500mlの当該パルプ試料について、25℃の温度でM80ワイヤを備えたダイナミックドレネージジャー(Dynamic Drainage Jar)(DDJ)中でふるい分けを行った。DDJは1200rpmで連続的に運転する。パルプ試料の90%をふるい分けした後、500mlの洗浄水を添加する。さらに500mlの水で洗浄を繰り返す。50mlのパルプスラリーがワイヤの頂部に残ったときにDDJを停止する。ワイヤ上に残っている上部フラクション及びワイヤを通してふるい分けした下部フラクションを、ブフナー漏斗を用いた真空濾過により濾紙に集める。Munktell、Ahlstroem M00ドレージ(drage)125mm直径の濾紙を使用する。パルプを有する濾紙をオーブン中、温度110℃で4時間乾燥する。試料について、乾燥質量測定のために秤量する。濾紙を凍結乾燥し、テトラヒドロフランで抽出する。重量(gravimetric)分析、それに続くHPLC SEC測定は、フィンランドのオウル大学からのティナ・サージャの博士論文(脱墨パルプ中のスティキィについての測定及び性質及び除去、Acta Universitatis Ouluensis、C Technica 275、Oulu大学プレス、2007年)に提示された方法に従って行う。上部フラクションを起源とする粘着性抽出物は、150μmを超える(>)粒径のマクロスティキィを表し、下部フラクションを起源とする(粘着性抽出物)は、粒径10~150μmのマイクロスティキィを表すと考えられる。結果は、繊維試料の全乾燥質量当たりで算出したものである。
固定用の化学物質を添加したパルプ試料10mlを蒸留水40mlと混合する。試料は長繊維を分離するために濾過する。そうしないと、長繊維が測定を妨げると思われる。濾液を蒸留水で希釈し、蛍光着色剤を添加する。フローサイトメトリー測定は、Partec GmbHから供給されるSL Blue装置を用いて行う。粒子が蛍光シグナルに基づいて識別されるように着色剤量について試験する。粒子サイズは、標準サイズの球状ポリスチレン粒子を使用することで較正した側方散乱(side scattering)によって分析する。1mlの試料チューブをフローサイトメーターに使用し、その200μlを分析する。各粒子は蛍光強度及びサイズによって特徴付けられる。より高い蛍光強度によって検出できるスティキィ又はピッチの疎水性集団は、ゲーティング(gating)することで、微粉(fines)及び顔料を含む他の粒子から分離される。スティキィ及びピッチが少なくとも80%少ないサンプルは、疎水性ポピュレーション(集団)ゲートにおいて、約80%少ない量の粒子をもたらす。分離された疎水性集団は、0.2μm~20μmのサイズを有する。この疎水性集団からの結果は、粒子の数、粒子の平均サイズ、粒子のサイズ分布、又は形状を球形と仮定することによって粒子の面積又は体積として計算する。
濁度試験のために、30mlのパルプ試料を重力濾過漏斗中のブラックリボン濾紙を通して濾過し、濾液を測定のため保存した。濁度は濾液から直ちに濁度を測定した。
両性ポリアクリルアミド用モノマー溶液の調製
モノマー溶液は、248.3gの50%アクリルアミド溶液、0.01gの40%DTPA Na塩溶液、2.9gのグルコン酸ナトリウム、4.4gのジプロピレングリコール、1.9gのアジピン酸、及び7.2gのクエン酸を20~25℃の温度制御実験室用ガラス反応器内で混合することによって調製する。固体物質が溶解するまでその混合物を撹拌する。この溶液に32.6gの80%ADAM-Clを添加する。溶液のpHをクエン酸で3.0に調整し、2.8gのアクリル酸を溶液に添加する。pHは2.5~3.0に調整する。
モノマー溶液を上記説明に従って調製した後、酸素を除去するためにモノマー溶液を窒素流でパージする。開始剤をモノマー溶液に添加する。開始剤溶液は、ポリエチレングリコール-水(質量で1:1)中6%2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルプロピオフェノン溶液4mlである。モノマー溶液をトレー上に置き、紫外線(UV光)下で約1cmの層を形成する。UV光は主に350~400nmの範囲にあり、例えば、Philips Actinic BL TL 40Wの光管を使用することができる。光の強度は、重合が完了するよう重合の進行につれて増加させる。最初の10分間の光強度は550μW/cm2で、30分後の光強度は2000μW/cm2である。得られたゲルを押出機に通過させ、60℃の温度で10%未満の含水率まで乾燥させる。乾燥したポリマーを粉砕し、粒径0.5~1.0mmまでふるいにかける。
実施例で使用した化学物質を表2に示す。
使用したパルプ
板紙抄紙機の透明濾液で2%コンシステンシーに希釈した、ヨーロッパ段ボール箱古紙(OCC)を含有するリサイクル繊維パルプ
混合後にパルプ試料からフローサイトメトリー用試料を採取した。
使用したパルプ
乾燥漂白カンバ属(birch)パルプ、1.5%コンシステンシーに湿式離解したもの。
Claims (18)
- 繊維ウェブが水性繊維懸濁液から形成される、紙又は板紙の製造において疎水性物質に起因する堆積物形成を抑制するために、両性ポリアクリルアミドを含む水溶性ポリマー製品を使用する方法であって、該両性ポリアクリルアミドが
- pH7で中性又はカチオン性の正味電荷、
- 2,5 00,000~18,000,000g/molの重量平均分子量、及び
- 5~13モル%の全イオン性
を有し、
ポリマー製品中の該両性ポリアクリルアミドが5~9モル%の、カチオン性モノマーから誘導される構造単位、及び1~4モル%の、アニオン性モノマーから誘導される構造単位を含む
ことを特徴とする使用する方法。 - 両性ポリアクリルアミドが3,000,000~18,000,000g/mol、好ましくは3,500,000~11,000,000g/mol、さらにより好ましくは4,000,000~8,000,000g/molの範囲の重量平均分子量を有する、請求項1に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドの全イオン性が6~12モル%、好ましくは6~10モル%の範囲にある、請求項1又は2に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミド中の荷電基の50~95%、好ましくは60~90%、より好ましくは70~85%がカチオン性である、請求項1、2又は3に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドがpH7で測定してカチオン性の正味電荷を有する、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドが線状ポリアクリルアミドである、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドのカチオン基が、2-(ジメチルアミノ)エチルアクリレート(ADAM)、[2-(アクリロイルオキシ)エチル]トリメチルアンモニウムクロリド(ADAM-Cl)、2-(ジメチルアミノ)エチルアクリレートベンジルクロリド、2-(ジメチルアミノ)エチルアクリレートジメチルスルフェート、2-ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート(MADAM)、[2-(メタクリロイルオキシ)エチル]トリメチルアンモニウムクロリド(MADAM-Cl)、2-ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレートジメチルスルフェート、[3-(アクリロイルアミノ)プロピル]トリメチルアンモニウムクロリド(APTAC)、[3-(メタクリロイルアミノ)プロピル]トリメチルアンモニウムクロリド(MAPTAC)及びジアリルジメチルアンモニウムクロリド(DADMAC)から選択されるモノマーに由来する、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドのアニオン基が、アクリル酸、マレイン酸、フマル酸、イタコン酸、アコニット酸、メサコン酸、シトラコン酸、クロトン酸、イソクロトン酸、アンゲリカ酸又はチグリン酸などの不飽和モノ-又はジカルボン酸から選択されるモノマーに由来する、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドが、反応混合物中の非水性溶媒の含有量が10質量%未満、好ましくは5質量%未満、より好ましくは3質量%未満である、ゲル重合によって得られたものである、請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- ポリマー製品が少なくとも25質量%、好ましくは少なくとも60質量%のポリマー含有量を有する、請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドを含む水溶性ポリマー製品を水に溶解して、2.5~5のpH値を有する水性処理溶液を得る、請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 無機微粒子、好ましくはベントナイト微粒子をさらに繊維懸濁液に添加する、請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 繊維懸濁液が、乾燥紙又は板紙に基づいて、少なくとも50質量%のリサイクル繊維材料、好ましくは段ボール箱古紙又は混合廃棄物を含む、請求項1~12のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 繊維懸濁液がリサイクル繊維材料を含み、該リサイクル繊維材料が、乾燥リサイクル繊維材料に基づいて計算して10~150μmの範囲の粒径を有する、0.02mg/gを超え、好ましくは0.2mg/gを超える疎水性物質を含むものである、請求項1~13のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 繊維懸濁液がクラフト法及び/又は機械パルプ化法によって得られる繊維を含む、請求項1~14のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドを、14g/lを超えるコンシステンシーを有する繊維懸濁液に又は繊維懸濁液を調製するために使用するストック成分に、好ましくは抄紙機又は板紙抄紙機の抄紙機チェストの前で、より好ましくは抄紙機又は板紙抄紙機のミキシングチェストの前で添加する、請求項1~15のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 両性ポリアクリルアミドを、製造する紙又は板紙1トン当たり100~2000gの量で、好ましくは製造する紙又は板紙1トン当たり300~1500gの範囲で、より好ましくは製造する紙又は板紙1トン当たり400~900gの範囲で使用する、請求項1~16のいずれか1項に記載の使用する方法。
- 繊維ウェブが水性繊維懸濁液から形成される、紙又は板紙の製造方法であって、
- 水性繊維懸濁液を用意すること、
- 任意で、水性繊維懸濁液を希釈すること、
- 水性繊維懸濁液をヘッドボックスに送達し、水性繊維懸濁液をワイヤースクリーン上で脱水して湿った、紙又は板紙のウェブを形成すること、及び
- 湿ったウェブをプレスして乾燥させて紙又は板紙のウェブを得ること
を含み、
pH7で中性又はカチオン性の正味電荷、2,500,000~18,000,000g/molの重量平均分子量及び5~13モル%の全イオン性を有する両性ポリアクリルアミドであって、5~9モル%の、カチオン性モノマーから誘導される構造単位及び1~4モル%の、アニオン性モノマーから誘導される構造単位を有する両性ポリアクリルアミドを含む水溶性ポリマー製品を該繊維懸濁液に添加して、疎水性物質に起因する堆積物形成を抑制することを特徴とする製造方法。
