Description
図1から8、10、及び11は本発明による酸化触媒の概略図である。
(a)触媒領域上に配置又は担持されていてよい、かつ/又は
(b)基材上に直接、配置又は担持されていてよい[すなわち捕捉領域が、基材の表面と接触している]、かつ/又は
(c)触媒領域と接触していてよい[すなわち捕捉領域は、触媒領域に隣接又は当接している]。
(i)触媒層(図5参照)、又は
(ii)触媒ゾーン(図3及び6参照)、又は
(iii)第一の触媒ゾーン及び第二の触媒ゾーン(図4参照)、又は
(iv)第一の触媒ゾーン及び第二の触媒層(図7参照)、又は
(v)第一の触媒層及び第二の触媒層(図8参照)
であり得る。
本明細書で用いられる「混合酸化物」という用語は通常、当技術分野で従来から知られているような、単一相の酸化物の混合物をいう。本明細書で用いられる「複合酸化物」という用語は通常、当技術分野で従来から知られているような、二相以上の相を有する酸化物の組成物をいう。
(a)基材の入口チャネルの閉塞端部(例えば遮断端又は塞栓端部)よりも入口チャネルの入口端部(例えば開放端部)に近いゾーン、及び/又は
(b)基材の出口チャネルの出口端部(例えば開放端部)よりも出口チャネルの閉塞端部(例えば遮断端部又は塞栓端部部)に近いゾーン。
よって、ゾーンの中間点(すなわちゾーンの長さの半分の地点)は、(a)基材の入口チャネルの閉塞端部よりも入口チャネルの入口端部に近い、及び/又は(b)基材の出口チャネルの出口端部よりも出口チャネルの閉塞端部に近い。
(a)基材の出口チャネルの(例えば遮断又は塞栓された)閉塞端部よりも出口チャネルの出口端部(例えば開放端部)に近いゾーン、及び/又は
(b)基材の入口チャネルの入口端部(例えば開放端部)に対するよりも、基材の入口チャネルの閉塞端部(例えばブロック端部又は塞栓端部)に近いゾーン。
アルミナ粉末を水中でミリングし、<20ミクロンのd90とすることにより、第一のスラリーを調製した。可溶性の白金及びパラジウム塩を、1:1の白金対パラジウムの重量比で添加した。得られたウォッシュコートを、確立されたコーティング技術により、コーディエライト製フロースルー基材の入口チャネルに塗布した。このウォッシュコートのコーティング深さは、基材長さの80%であった。この部材を乾燥させた。アルミナ粉末を水中でミリングして、<20ミクロンのd90とすることにより、第二のスラリーを調製した。可溶性の白金塩を加え、このスラリーを攪拌して均質化した。得られたウォッシュコートを、確立されたコーティング技術により、コーディエライト製フロースルー基材の出口チャネルに塗布した。このウォッシュコートのコーティング深さは、基材長さの80%であった。この部材を乾燥させ、500℃で焼成した。
触媒は、α−アルミナを含む硫黄トラップコーティングを基材に塗布しなかったことを除き、実施例1と同様に製造した。
実施例1及び2の触媒を、6.0リットルのディーゼルベンチ搭載エンジンに取り付けた。触媒活性は、エンジンにおける担持量を段階的に増加させ、排ガス温度を上昇させることにより決定した。排ガス汚染物質の濃度は、事前の触媒及び事後の触媒の双方について測定した。NOについての酸化活性は、NO2パーセンテージとして、250、280、310、410及び520℃での合計NOx事後触媒の割合として、決定した。実施例1及び2についてのNO2/NOxパーセンテージを、表1で報告する。
Claims (30)
- ディーゼルエンジンにより生じる排ガスを処理するための酸化触媒であって、
フロースルーモノリス基材、
ディーゼルエンジンにより生じる排ガス中にある少なくとも1種の硫黄含有不純物を捕捉するための捕捉材料を含む捕捉領域であって、該捕捉材料が、排ガス中の硫黄酸化物と反応させるための金属と、耐火性酸化物粒子とを含み、該耐火性酸化物粒子が、≦50m2/gの平均比表面積を有する、捕捉領域、並びに
基材上に配置された触媒領域であって、白金(Pt)、パラジウム(Pd)、及び白金(Pt)とパラジウム(Pd)との組み合わせから成る群から選択される白金族金属(PGM)を含有する触媒材料を含み、捕捉領域と触媒領域とが異なる組成物を有し、捕捉材料が、触媒材料と接触する前に排ガスと接触するように配置される、触媒領域
を備える、酸化触媒。 - 排ガス中の硫黄酸化物と反応させるための金属が、パラジウム(Pd)、マグネシウム(Mg)、セリウム(Ce)、及びこれらの2つ以上の組み合わせから選択される、請求項1に記載の酸化触媒。
- 排ガス中の硫黄酸化物と反応させるための金属が、パラジウム(Pd)である、請求項2に記載の酸化触媒。
- 捕捉材料が、≧約10nmの平均粒径を有する、排ガス中の硫黄酸化物と反応させるための金属粒子を含む、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性酸化物がアルミナである、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 白金族金属(PGM)が白金(Pt)である、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 白金族金属(PGM)がパラジウム(Pd)である、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 白金族金属(PGM)が、白金(Pt)とパラジウム(Pd)との組み合わせである、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒材料がさらに担持材料を有し、白金族金属(PGM)が、該担持材料に担持されている、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 担持材料が、アルミナ、シリカ、チタニア、ジルコニア、セリア、シリカ−アルミナ、チタニア−アルミナ、ジルコニア−アルミナ、セリア−アルミナ、チタニア−シリカ、ジルコニア−シリカ、ジルコニア−チタニア、セリア−ジルコニア及びアルミナ−酸化マグネシウムから成る群から選択される耐火性金属酸化物を含む、請求項9に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性酸化物が、アルミナ、シリカ、又はシリカ−アルミナである、請求項10に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性酸化物がチタニアである、請求項10に記載の酸化触媒。
- 捕捉領域が捕捉層である、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が触媒層であり、捕捉層が該触媒層上に配置されており、該触媒層が基材上に配置されている、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が、第一の触媒層及び第二の触媒層であり、捕捉層が第一の触媒層上に配置されており、第一の触媒層が第二の触媒層上に配置されており、第二の触媒層が基材上に配置されている、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が、第一の触媒ゾーン及び第二の触媒ゾーンであり、捕捉層が第一の触媒ゾーン及び第二の触媒ゾーンの双方の上に配置されており、第一の触媒ゾーン及び第二の触媒ゾーンが基材上に配置されている、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第一の触媒ゾーンが、第二の触媒ゾーンの上流に配置されている、請求項16に記載の酸化触媒。
- 捕捉領域が捕捉ゾーンである、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が触媒層であり、捕捉ゾーンが該触媒層上に配置されている、請求項18に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が触媒ゾーンであり、該触媒ゾーンが基材の出口端部に配置されており、捕捉ゾーンが基材の入口端部に配置されている、請求項18に記載の酸化触媒。
- ディーゼルエンジンにより生じる排ガスを処理するための酸化触媒であって、
フロースルーモノリス基材、
ディーゼルエンジンにより生じる排ガス中にある少なくとも1種の硫黄含有不純物を捕捉するための捕捉材料を含む捕捉領域であって、該捕捉材料が、排ガス中の硫黄酸化物と反応させるための金属と、耐火性酸化物粒子とを含み、該耐火性酸化物粒子が、≦50m 2 /gの平均比表面積を有する、捕捉領域、並びに
基材上に配置された触媒領域であって、白金(Pt)、パラジウム(Pd)、及び白金(Pt)とパラジウム(Pd)との組み合わせから成る群から選択される白金族金属(PGM)を含有する触媒材料を含み、捕捉領域と触媒領域とが異なる組成物を有し、捕捉材料が、触媒材料と接触する前に排ガスと接触するように配置され、捕捉領域が捕捉ゾーンであり、触媒領域が触媒ゾーンであり、該触媒ゾーンが基材の入口端部に配置されており、捕捉ゾーンが基材の出口端部に配置されている、触媒領域
を備える、酸化触媒。 - 触媒ゾーンが捕捉ゾーンに隣接しており、任意選択的に、該捕捉ゾーンが該触媒ゾーンと重なっている、請求項20又は21に記載の酸化触媒。
- 基材が、入口端面及び出口端面を備え、捕捉領域が、該入口端面に配置されている捕捉面である、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 捕捉面が、基材の入口端面から<25mmの平均長さを有する、請求項23に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が触媒層であり、該触媒層が好ましくは、基材上に配置されている、請求項23又は24に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が、第一の触媒層及び第二の触媒層であり、好ましくは第一の触媒層が第二の触媒層上に配置されており、第二の触媒層が基材上に配置されている、請求項23又は24に記載の酸化触媒。
- 触媒領域が、第一の触媒ゾーン及び第二の触媒ゾーンであり、好ましくは第一の触媒ゾーンが、第二の触媒ゾーンの上流に配置されている、請求項23又は24に記載の酸化触媒。
- 基材が、≧7インチ(17.8cm)の直径を有する、請求項1から27のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- ディーゼルエンジンにより生じる排ガスを処理するための排気システムであって、請求項1から28のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒と、放出制御デバイスとを備える、排気システム。
- ディーゼルエンジンと、請求項1から28のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒又は請求項29に記載の排気システムのいずれかとを備える、車両。
