Description
カロテノイド分子は、コンタクトレンズに担持されると、その酸化防止性及び他の性質に基づいて複数の使用可能性を有する;可能性は、快適剤、一般的な目の健康、AMD(加齢黄斑変性)のような眼疾患の特別な処置、又は単に同時溶出する快適分子の枯渇を知らせることを包含する。カロテノイド分子はまた、青色光吸収性コンタクトレンズの製造に使用することができる。
本発明は、1つの態様において、コンタクトレンズの製造方法であって、以下:
(a) コンタクトレンズを得る工程、
(b) カロテノイド及びビタミンE材料を含有する溶液に、所望量のカロテノイド及びビタミンE材料を担持するのに充分な時間、コンタクトレンズを浸漬する工程;並びに
(c) 工程(b)のコンタクトレンズをオートクレーブ処理することによって、コンタクトレンズを滅菌する工程を含む方法であって、このコンタクトレンズは、レンズオートクレーブ処理及び/又はレンズ保存中のカロテノイドの酸化的分解が、ビタミンE材料を含まない同一コンタクトレンズと比較して少なくとも約30%少ない方法を提供する。
これから本発明の実施態様を詳細に述べる。当業者には明らかとなろうが、本発明の範囲又は本質を逸することなく、本発明には種々の変形及び変化を加えることができる。例えば、1つの実施態様の一部として説明又は記載される特徴は、別の実施態様に利用することによって、更に別の実施態様を生み出すことができる。よって本発明は、このような変形及び変化を添付の請求の範囲及びその均等物の範囲に入るものとして取り扱うことを意図する。本発明の他の対象、特徴及び態様は、以下の詳細な説明に開示されるか、又はそこから明白である。当業者には当然のことながら、本考察は、単に典型的な実施態様の説明であり、本発明のより広い態様を限定するものではない。

(a) コンタクトレンズを得る工程、
(b) カロテノイド及びビタミンE材料を含有する溶液に、所望量のカロテノイド及びビタミンE材料を担持するのに充分な時間、コンタクトレンズを浸漬する工程;並びに
(c) 工程(b)のコンタクトレンズをオートクレーブ処理することによって、コンタクトレンズを滅菌する工程を含む方法であって、このコンタクトレンズは、レンズオートクレーブ処理及び/又はレンズ保存中のカロテノイドの酸化的分解が、ビタミンE材料を含まない同一コンタクトレンズと比較して少なくとも約30%少ない方法を提供する。
最初にβ−カロテンをクロロホルムに0.1重量%溶液として溶解した。これを後で1−プロパノール中で0.001重量%溶液にして、担持実験に使用した。コーティングしていないロトラフィルコンB(lotrafilcon B)レンズをこの溶液中で≒1時間放置することによりβ−カロテンを担持させ、後でレンズをDI水に≒5分で移して、直ちにPBS中でオートクレーブ処理した。上記1−プロパノール中のβ−カロテン溶液に0.5重量%を加えることにより、ビタミンEをβ−カロテンと共担持させ、残りの工程は変更なしとした。β−カロテン及びビタミンEは、UV−VIS分光光度法を用いて容易に定量及び検出することができた。ビタミンEの共担持により、最終レンズ中にβ−カロテンと一緒に≒250μgのビタミンEが得られた。
(少なくとも3つの試料を分析することにより担持を測定した。データは平均±標準偏差を表す。)
Claims (12)
- コンタクトレンズの製造方法であって、以下:
(a) コンタクトレンズを得る工程、
(b) カロテノイド及びビタミンE材料を含有する溶液に、所望量のカロテノイド及びビタミンE材料を担持するのに充分な時間、コンタクトレンズを浸漬する工程;並びに
(c) 工程(b)のコンタクトレンズをオートクレーブ処理することによって、コンタクトレンズを滅菌する工程を含む方法であって、コンタクトレンズが、50μg〜250μgの量のビタミンE及び0.5μg〜50μgの量のカロテノイドを含み、このコンタクトレンズは、レンズオートクレーブ処理及び/又はレンズ保存中のカロテノイドの酸化的分解が、ビタミンE材料を含まない同一コンタクトレンズと比較して少なくとも30%少ない方法。 - コンタクトレンズが、親水性シリコーン含有ポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ビタミンE材料が、ビタミンE、ビタミンEの塩、ビタミンEの誘導体及びこれらの混合物よりなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- カロテノイドが、β−カロテン、リコピン、アスタキサンチン、ルテイン及びこれらの混合物よりなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- カロテノイドが、β−カロテンである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程(b)においてコンタクトレンズが、0.0005重量%〜0.1重量%のカロテノイド及び0.05重量%〜0.5重量%のビタミンEを含有する、ビタミンE材料及びカロテノイドの溶液に浸漬される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 形成された水膨潤性のポリマーレンズ本体;カロテノイド及びビタミンE材料を含むコンタクトレンズであって、コンタクトレンズが、50μg〜250μgの量のビタミンE及び0.5μg〜50μgの量のカロテノイドを含み、ビタミンE材料は、レンズオートクレーブ処理及び/又はレンズ保存中のカロテノイドの酸化的分解を、ビタミンE材料を含まない同一コンタクトレンズと比較して少なくとも30%減少させるのに充分な量で存在する、コンタクトレンズ。
- ポリマーレンズ本体が、親水性シリコーン含有ポリマーを含む、請求項7に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- ビタミンE材料が、ビタミンE、ビタミンEの塩、ビタミンEの誘導体及びこれらの混合物よりなる群から選択される、請求項7に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- カロテノイドが、β−カロテン、リコピン、アスタキサンチン、ルテイン及びこれらの混合物よりなる群から選択される、請求項7に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
