Claims (2)
- 前段に酸化触媒を備えて排気管途中に介装されたパティキュレートフィルタと、前記酸化触媒より上流側で排気ガス中に燃料を添加する燃料添加手段と、エンジンからの排気流路を絞り込む排気絞り手段とを備え、車両を停車した状態で前記パティキュレートフィルタの手動再生を開始して前記排気絞り手段により排気流路を絞り、これによりエンジン負荷を増加して燃料噴射量を増やすことで排気ガスの温度を上昇させた後、前記燃料添加手段による燃料添加を開始し、その添加燃料が前記酸化触媒上で酸化反応した時の反応熱により捕集済みパティキュレートを燃焼させて前記パティキュレートフィルタの再生を図る方法であって、パティキュレートフィルタの手動再生を開始して燃料添加手段による燃料添加を開始した後に、燃料噴射量が基準値を超えているか否かを判定し、該燃料噴射量が基準値を超えている場合に限り前記パティキュレートフィルタの入口での排気温度が基準温度以上となった時に前記排気絞り手段の排気流路の絞り込みを解除して前記エンジン負荷の増加分をなくし、これにより前記エンジン側での酸素消費量を抑制して排気ガス中の残存酸素量を相対的に増やすことを特徴とするパティキュレートフィルタの手動再生方法。
- エンジンの燃料噴射装置を燃料添加手段として採用し、圧縮上死点付近で行われる燃料のメイン噴射に続いて圧縮上死点より遅い非着火のタイミングでポスト噴射を追加することで燃料添加を実行することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のパティキュレートフィルタの手動再生方法。
