Description
ジェイソン・シャーマン(Jason Sherman)による、2009年3月31日に出願された、「関節力データを表示するための装置及び方法(DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING JOINT FORCE DATA)」と題された米国特許出願第XX/XXX,XXX号;ミック・ロック(Mick Rock)による、2009年3月31日に出願された、「整形外科的処置を実施する方法(METHOD FOR PERFORMING AN ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL PROCEDURE)」と題された米国特許出願第XX/XXX,XXX号;ジェイソン・シャーマンによる、2009年3月31日に出願された、「膝関節の力を決定するための装置及び方法(DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING FORCES OF A KNEE JOINT)」と題された米国特許出願第XX/XXX,XXX号;及びジェイソン・シャーマンによる、2009年3月31日に出願された、「関節力データを表示するためのシステム及び方法(SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING JOINT FORCE DATA)」と題された米国特許出願第XX/XXX,XXX号;を相互参照し、これらのそれぞれの全文を参照により本明細書に組み込む。
本開示は、一般的に、整形外科的器具、より具体的には、関節力データを決定及び表示するためのシステム、装置、及び方法に関する。
整形外科的人工関節は、整形外科医により患者に植え込まれて、例えば、患者の骨及び/若しくは軟組織の喪失、外傷による損傷、並びに/又は骨の変形を矯正する、又は別の方法で軽減する。整形外科的人工関節は、患者の関節の一部又は全部を置き換えることができる。例えば、整形外科的人工関節は、患者の膝、股、肩、足、又は他の関節を置き換えることができる。膝を置換する場合、整形外科的人工膝関節は、脛骨トレー、大腿骨コンポーネント、及び脛骨トレーと大腿骨コンポーネントとの間に位置付けられるポリマー挿入物又はベアリングを備えてもよい。場合によっては、人工膝関節は、人工膝蓋骨コンポーネントも含んでもよく、このコンポーネントは、手術により準備された患者の膝蓋骨の後側に固定される。
1つの態様によると、整形外科的装置は、センサ筐体及びセンサ筐体に固定されたハンドルを備えてもよい。センサ筐体は、患者の関節に位置付けられるような形状であってもよく、凹面状に湾曲した上方筐体片を備えてもよい。センサ配列は、センサ筐体内に位置付けられてもよい。センサ配列は、患者の関節の関節力を示すセンサ信号を発生させるように構成される複数の圧力センサを備えてもよい。整形外科的装置はまた、ハンドルの端部に固定される第1ディスプレイ及びハンドル内に位置付けられる回路を備えてもよい。回路は、センサ配列からのセンサ信号を受信し、ディスプレイを制御して患者の関節の関節力の視覚的指標を提供するように構成されてもよい。
本開示の概念には様々な改変及び代替的形態が考えられるが、その特定の例示的な実施形態を図面に例として示し、本明細書に詳しく述べる。ただし、本開示の概念を開示される特定の形態に限定することを何ら意図するものではなく、その逆に、添付の「特許請求の範囲」において定義される発明の趣旨及び範囲に包含されるすべての改変物、均等物及び代替物を網羅することを意図するものである点を理解すべきである。
(1) 患者の関節に位置付けられるような形状であり、凹状に湾曲した上方筐体片を有するセンサ筐体と、
前記センサ筐体内に位置付けられるセンサ配列であって、前記患者の関節の関節力を示すセンサ信号を発生させるよう構成される複数の圧力センサを備える、センサ配列と、
前記センサ筐体に固定されるハンドルと、
前記ハンドルの端部に固定される第1ディスプレイと、
前記ハンドルに位置付けられる回路であって、前記センサ配列からの前記センサ信号を受信し、前記ディスプレイを制御して前記患者の関節の前記関節力の視覚的指標を提供するよう構成される、回路と、を備える、整形外科的装置。
(2) 前記センサ筐体がカップ形状である、実施態様1に記載の整形外科的装置。
(3) 前記センサ筐体が前記患者の股関節に位置付けられるような形状である、実施態様2に記載の整形外科的装置。
(4) 前記センサ筐体が前記患者の肩関節に位置付けられるような形状である、実施態様2に記載の整形外科的装置。
(6) 前記センサ筐体が、凸状に湾曲した下方筐体片を備え、力が前記センサ筐体に印加されないとき、前記凹状に湾曲した上方筐体片の外縁が前記凸状に湾曲した下方筐体の対応する外縁から離間している、実施態様1に記載の整形外科的装置。
(7) 前記複数の圧力センサが容量性圧力センサである、実施態様1に記載の整形外科的装置。
(8) 前記第1ディスプレイが複数の発光ダイオードを備え、
前記回路が前記複数の発光ダイオードを制御して、前記関節力の視覚的指標を提供するように構成される、実施態様1に記載の整形外科的装置。
(9) 前記ハンドルの前記端部に固定される第2ディスプレイを更に備え、
前記ハンドルが上部ハンドル筐体及び底部ハンドル筐体を備え、前記第1ディスプレイが前記上部ハンドル筐体の端部に固定され、前記第2ディスプレイが前記底部ハンドル筐体の端部に固定される、実施態様1に記載の整形外科的装置。
(10) 前記回路が、前記関節力を示すデータを送信するよう構成される無線送信機を備える、実施態様1に記載の整形外科的装置。
前記センサ筐体内に位置付けられるセンサ配列であって、前記患者の関節の関節力を示すセンサ信号を発生させるよう構成される複数の圧力センサを備える、センサ配列と、
複数のワイヤを介して前記センサ筐体に通信的に連結されるハンドルと、
前記ハンドルの端部に固定される第1ディスプレイと、
前記ハンドルに位置付けられる回路であって、前記センサ配列からの前記センサ信号を受信し、前記ディスプレイを制御して前記患者の関節の前記関節力の視覚的指標を提供するよう構成される、回路と、を備える、整形外科的装置。
(12) 前記センサ筐体が半球形外表面を含む、実施態様11に記載の整形外科的装置。
(13) 前記センサ筐体が実質的に平面であり、前記患者の脊椎の第1椎骨と第2椎骨との間に定置されるような大きさであり、前記センサ筐体が前記患者の脊髄の一部を受容するような形状の切り込みを備える、実施態様11に記載の整形外科的装置。
(14) 前記センサ筐体が実質的に平面であり、前記患者の膝蓋骨と大腿骨との間に定置されるような大きさであり、前記センサ筐体がほぼ楕円形状を有する、実施態様11に記載の整形外科的装置。
(15) 前記第1ディスプレイが複数の発光ダイオードを備え、
前記回路が前記複数の発光ダイオードを制御して、前記関節力の視覚的指標を提供するよう構成される、実施態様11に記載の整形外科的装置。
(16) 前記ハンドルの前記端部に固定される第2ディスプレイを更に備え、
前記ハンドルが上部ハンドル筐体及び底部ハンドル筐体を備え、前記第1ディスプレイが前記上部ハンドル筐体の端部に固定され、前記第2ディスプレイが前記底部ハンドル筐体の端部に固定される、実施態様11に記載の整形外科的装置。
(17) 患者の関節に位置付けられる形状のセンサ筐体と、
前記センサ筐体内に位置付けられ、前記患者の前記関節の関節力を示すセンサ信号を発生させるよう構成される、複数の圧力センサと、
前記センサ筐体に連結されるハンドルと、
前記ハンドルに連結されるディスプレイと、
前記複数の圧力センサ及び前記ディスプレイに電気的に連結されるプロセッサと、
内部に保存された複数の命令を有する記憶装置であって、前記命令は、前記プロセッサにより遂行されるとき、前記プロセッサに前記ディスプレイを制御させて、前記患者の前記関節の前記関節力の視覚的指標を提供する、記憶装置と、を備える、整形外科的装置。
(18) 前記センサ筐体がカップ形状である、実施態様17に記載の整形外科的装置。
(19) 前記センサ筐体が実質的に平面であり、前記患者の脊椎の第1椎骨と第2椎骨との間に定置されるような大きさであり、前記センサ筐体が前記患者の脊髄の一部を受容するような形状の切り込みを備える、実施態様17に記載の整形外科的装置。
(20) 前記センサ筐体が実質的に平面であり、前記患者の膝蓋骨と大腿骨との間に定置されるような大きさであり、前記センサ筐体がほぼ楕円形状を有する、実施態様17に記載の整形外科的装置。
Claims (9)
- 患者の関節に位置付けられるような形状であり、凹状に湾曲した上方筐体片を有するセンサ筐体と、
前記センサ筐体内に位置付けられるセンサ配列であって、前記患者の関節の関節力を示すセンサ信号を発生させるよう構成される複数の圧力センサを備える、センサ配列と、
前記センサ筐体に固定され、上方ハンドル筐体と下方ハンドル筐体とを含む、ハンドルと、
前記上方ハンドル筐体の端部に固定される第1ディスプレイと、
前記下方ハンドル筐体の端部に固定される第2ディスプレイと、
前記ハンドルに位置付けられる回路であって、前記センサ配列からの前記センサ信号を受信し、前記第1および第2ディスプレイを制御して前記患者の関節の前記関節力の視覚的指標を提供するよう構成される、回路と、を備える、整形外科的装置。 - 前記センサ筐体が前記患者の股関節に位置付けられるような形状である、請求項1に記載の整形外科的装置。
- 前記センサ筐体が前記患者の肩関節に位置付けられるような形状である、請求項1に記載の整形外科的装置。
- 前記センサ筐体が、凸状に湾曲した下方筐体片を備え、力が前記センサ筐体に印加されないとき、前記凹状に湾曲した上方筐体片の外縁が前記凸状に湾曲した下方筐体の対応する外縁から離間している、請求項1に記載の整形外科的装置。
- 前記複数の圧力センサが容量性圧力センサである、請求項1に記載の整形外科的装置。
- 前記回路が、前記関節力を示すデータを送信するよう構成される無線送信機を備える、請求項1に記載の整形外科的装置。

前記ハンドルに位置付けられる回路であって、前記センサ配列からの前記センサ信号を受信し、前記第1および第2ディスプレイを制御して前記患者の関節の前記関節力の視覚的指標を提供するよう構成される、回路と、を備える、整形外科的装置。 - 前記センサ筐体が実質的に平面であり、前記患者の脊椎の第1椎骨と第2椎骨との間に定置されるような大きさであり、前記センサ筐体が前記患者の脊髄の一部を受容するような形状の切り込みを備える、請求項7に記載の整形外科的装置。
