Description
発泡性ビーズの成形方法は例えば特許文献1〜5に記載されている。
(1)発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤を含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーを導入する手段、
(2)ダイプレート、
(3)ペレットを作る切断手段、
(4)ペレットを冷却し、回収する手段、例えば循環水、
(5)ペレットを水から分離する手段。
(a) 所定最大寸法を超える凝集物またはペレットを、造粒室下流に配置した粉砕 (comminuting machine) 機械またはカッターの下流に配置した粉砕ユニット(comminuting unit)で粉砕(comminution)し、
(b)減圧装置中で液体を減圧し、
(c)スロットル装置で液体を減圧し、スロットル装置の上流側に圧力均等化容器を設け、
(d)ペレットに含まれる液体を減圧せずに、液体からペレットを分離する。
(1)流速が小さい孔を有するダイプレートの公称能力の近くに達した時かつ
(2)発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤の配合比率が仕様(スペック)内になった時に、
(3)小さい孔を有する上記ダイプレートに切り換える。
(a)発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤を含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーを導入する手段と、小さい直径(一般に0.5〜1.9mm)の複数の孔を有するダイプレートと、ペレットを製造するためのカッター手段とを有するペレタイザ(S)を用意し、
(b)発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤を含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーを導入する手段と、大きい直径(一般に2〜5mm)の複数の孔を有するダイプレートと、ペレットを製造するためのカッター手段とを有するペレタイザ(L)を用意し、
(c)ポリマーの流速がペレタイザ(S)の運転領域になるまで且つ発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤の比率が仕様内になるまで、発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤を含む発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーペレットをペレタイザ(L)へ送り、
(d)発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤を含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーの流れをペレタイザ(S)に切り換え、このペレタイザ(S)を発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーのペレットを製造するのに有効な条件で運転し、
(e)ペレタイザ(S)から発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーのペレットを回収し、
(f)段階(c)で製造したペレットを回収し、必要に応じて次の段階(d)へ溶融状態で再循環する。
ペレタイザ(L)のダイプレートの孔の直径は3〜5mmの範囲、好ましくは3〜4mの範囲にあるのが有利である。
(1)上記ペレタイザ(L)に、発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤を導入できるように設計された装置の少なくとも1部を通って溶融したビニルポリマーを、発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤の導入なしに供給するか、または、
(2)上記ペレタイザ(L)に、発泡剤および任意成分の添加剤を導入できるように設計された装置を通らずに、芳香族ビニルポリマーがその供給源、例えば重合装置の揮発分除去装置から基本的に直接供給する。
(1)運転開始時にペレタイザ(L)を用いて生産を開始する。
(2)芳香族ビニルポリマーの供給源と直接連結したバイパスを介して(または介さずに)ペレタイザ(L)を使用して非発泡性ペレット(例えば結晶生PSまたはHiPS)を製造する。
(3)発泡剤および/または任意成分の添加剤の導入時のトラブルまたは機器の任意のトラブルまたは機器のメンテナンス時に起こるトラブル時に、ペレタイザ(L)に切り換える。
(4)仕様を変えて、他のタイプの発泡性ペレットを製造する。
(5)ダイの交換。
(1)ポリスチレン、エラストマー変成ポリスチレン、
(2)スチレンとアクリロニトリルのコポリマー(SAN)、エラストマ−変成SAN、特にポリブタジエンまたはブタジエン−アクリロニトリル共重合体骨格鎖上にスチレンとアクリロニトリルをグラフト(グラフト重合)して得られるABS、
(3)SANとABSの混合物、
(4)スチレンブロックとブタジエンまたはイソプレンまたはブタジエン/イソプレン混合物のブロックとを有するコポリマー(これらのブロック共重合体は直鎖のブロックコポリマーまたは星形のブロックコポリマーにすることができ、水素化および/または官能化できる)。これらのコポリマーは下記非特許文献1に記載されている。

(5)SBR(スチレン−ブタジエンゴム)
(i)60〜100重量%の一種以上のC8〜12ビニル芳香族モノマー、
(ii)0〜40重量%のアクリル酸またはメタアクリル酸のC1〜4アルキルエステル、アクリロニトリルおよびメタクリロニトリルから成る群の中から選択される一種以上のモノマー
から成り、このポリマーは0〜20重量%の一種または複数のゴム状ポリマーにグラフトするか、それに吸蔵されていてもよい。
(a)C4〜6の共役ジエンのコ−ポリマーおよびホモポリマー、
(b)60〜85重量%の一種または複数のC4〜6共役ジエンと、15〜40重量%のアクリロニトリルおよびメタクリロニトリルから成る群の中から選択されるモノマーとのコポリマー、
(c)20〜60重量%、好ましくは40〜50重量%の未置換またはC1〜4アルキル基で置換されたC8〜12芳香族ビニルモノマーと、60〜40重量%、好ましくは60〜50重量%のC4〜6共役ジエンの中から選択される一種以上のモノマーとのコポリマー。
芳香族ビニルポリマーは芳香族モノビニルポリマであるのが有利である。
(1)ビーズを液体の静電防止剤、例えばアミン、第3エトキシ化アルキルアミン、エチレンオキシド−プロピレンオキシド・コポリマー等で被覆する。この薬剤の目的はコーティングの接着を容易にするとにある。
(2)上記のビーズに「コーティング剤」を塗布する。このコーティング剤は基本的にグリセロール(または他のアルコール)と脂肪酸のノ−、ジ−およびトリエステルと亜鉛のような金属のステアレートおよび/またはステアリン酸マグネシウムとの混合物から成る。
(i)発泡性ペレットの形をした組成物を特に、5〜200kg/m3、好ましくは5〜100kg/m3、特に、5〜50kg/m3のバルク密度を有する発泡粒子または発泡ビーズに、形成することができる圧力および温度条件下で水蒸気、特に撹拌槽中の水蒸気と接触させ、混合する予備発泡段階
(ii)発泡した粒子またはビーズを周囲空気と接触させて安定させる段階、
(iii)安定させた粒子またはビーズを金型に入れ、金型を加熱して粒子またはビーズを互いに溶着させて所望のバルク密度、好ましくは段階(i)で得た発泡粒子または発泡ビーズと同じ密度を有する成形、発泡した物品を製造する段階。
Claims (13)
- 下記(a)〜(f)の工程を有する発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーのペレット製造法のスタートアップ方法:
(a)発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤を含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーを導入する手段と、小さい直径の複数の孔を有するダイプレートと、ペレットを製造するためのカッター手段とを有するペレタイザ(S)を用意し、
(b)発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤を含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーを導入する手段と、大きい直径の複数の孔を有するダイプレートと、ペレットを製造するためのカッター手段とを有するペレタイザ(L)を用意し、
(c)ポリマーの流速が上記ペレタイザ(S)に適した流速領域になり且つ発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤の比率が所望の比率になるまで、上記の発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤を含む発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーペレットを上記ペレタイザ(L)へ送り、
(d)ポリマーの流速がペレタイザ(S)に適した流速領域になり且つ発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤の比率が所望の比率になった時に、上記の発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤を含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーの流れを上記ペレタイザ(S)に切り換え、このペレタイザ(S)を発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーのペレットを製造するのに適した条件で運転し、
(e)ペレタイザ(S)から発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーのペレットを回収し、
(f)段階(c)で製造したペレットは回収して上記段階(d)へ溶融状態で再循環する。 - 上記ペレタイザ(S)のダイプレートの孔の直径が0.5〜1.9mmである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記ペレタイザ(S)のダイプレートの孔の直径が0.5〜1.5mmである請求項2に記載の方法。
- 上記ペレタイザ(L)のダイプレートの孔の直径が2〜5mmである請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 上記ペレタイザ(L)のダイプレートの孔の直径が3〜5mmである請求項4に記載の方法。
- 上記ペレタイザ(S)で生産を行っている間に、上記ペレタイザ(L)を用いて非発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーを製造する請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に方法。
- 上記ペレタイザ(S)を行っている間に、上記ペレタイザ(L)を止め、大きな直径の複数の孔を有する上記ペレタイザ(L)のダイプレートを外して小さい直径の複数の孔を有するダイプレートに交換して、上記ペレタイザ(L)を発泡性芳香族ビニルポリマーのペレットを製造可能なペレタイザ(S)に変換する請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に方法。
- 他のペレタイザ(S)をメンテナンスしている間に、上記で変換したペレタイザ(S)を使用する請求項7に記載の方法。
- 上記ペレタイザ(S)で生産を行っている間に、発泡剤および/または任意成分の添加剤の導入にトラブルが生じた時、機器にトラブルが生じた時または機器のメンテナンスが必要になった時に、溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーの流れを上記ペレタイザ(S)から一つまたは複数のペレタイザ(L)へ切換える請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 上記のトラブルが終わった時に、発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤とを含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーの流れを上記ペレタイザ(L)からペレタイザ(S)に切り換える請求項9に記載の方法。
- 仕様が変わった時に、溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマーの流れを上記ペレタイザ(S)から一つまたは複数のペレタイザ(L)に切り換え、ポリマーの流速が上記ペレタイザ(S)に適した流速になり且つ発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤との配合比率が所望比率になったら直ぐに、上記ペレタイザ(S)へ再度切り換える請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 運転開始時、トラブル時および/または仕様変更時に上記ペレタイザ(L)で製造されたペレットをサイド(横)の押出機へ再循環し、発泡剤と任意成分の添加剤とを含む溶融した芳香族ビニルポリマと一緒に混合する請求項1〜5および9〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 運転開始時、トラブル時および/または仕様変更時に上記ペレタイザ(L)で製造されたペレットに難燃剤および/または一種または複数の添加剤を添加することで上記難燃剤および/または一種または複数の添加剤の分散を良くする請求項1〜5および9〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
