Claims (10)
- 帯状ガラスを延伸する装置において、
帯状ガラスを供給する成形部本体であって、互いに収束して根底部で合わさる複数の成形面を含む成形部本体と、
前記根底部と交差する縁部誘導器と、
前記縁部誘導器の下方に配設された縁部ロールアセンブリであって、前記帯状ガラスの縁部に接触する接触部材と、前記接触部材に連結された縁部ロール軸と、前記接触部材に近接して前記軸の周囲に配設されたシュラウド部材であって該シュラウド部材の内面と前記軸の外面との間に間隙が存在するシュラウド部材とを含む縁部ロールアセンブリと、
を備えることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記シュラウド部材が前記軸と同心であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
- 前記縁部ロール軸が、該軸を回転させるよう構成された駆動装置に連結されることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の装置。
- 前記縁部ロールアセンブリが複数のシュラウド部材を含み、該複数のシュラウド部材の各シュラウド部材が、隣接するシュラウド部材と同心であり、隣接するシュラウド部材間に間隙が存在することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか記載の装置。
- 前記シュラウド部材が前記軸に連結されることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか記載の装置。
- 前記シュラウド部材が一端部において少なくとも部分的に閉止されることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか記載の装置。
- 前記縁部ロールアセンブリが、前記成形部本体の直下において前記縁部誘導器に近接して配置されることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか記載の装置。
- ガラスを延伸する方法において、
成形部本体上に溶融ガラスを流して帯状ガラスを製造する工程であって、前記溶融ガラスが少なくとも1つの縁部誘導器上を流れる前記工程と、
前記帯状ガラスの縁部に接触する接触部材と、該接触部材に連結された縁部ロール軸と、前記接触部材に近接して前記軸の周囲に同心に配設されたシュラウド部材であって、該シュラウド部材の内面と前記軸の外面との間に前記縁部誘導器からの放射による熱損失を低減するための環状の間隙が存在するシュラウド部材とを含む縁部ロールアセンブリに、前記帯状ガラスを接触させる工程と、
を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記縁部ロール軸が回転され、前記シュラウド部材が前記軸と共に回転することを特徴とする請求項8記載の方法。
- 前記成形部本体が、互いに収束する複数の成形面を含み、該成形面上を前記溶融ガラスが別々の流れとして流れ、前記縁部誘導器が前記互いに収束する複数の成形面の一つに取り付けられることを特徴とする請求項8または9記載の方法。
