積層フィルム(未延伸の積層体又は延伸フィルム)をエポキシ樹脂に包埋したのち、ミクロトーム[大和光機工業(株)、RUB−2100]を用いて0.05μm厚にスライスし、透過型電子顕微鏡を用いて断面を観察し、各層の厚さ、及び全体の厚さ(総厚)を測定した。この測定を流れ方向に50mm間隔で、長さ1000mmに亘って行った。そして、各層の厚さ、全体の厚さそれぞれについて、全測定結果の平均値を算出した。
JIS K7128−2(エルメンドルフ引裂法)に準拠して、延伸フィルムの中央部における長手方向について、引っ張り試験機[イマダ社製、ZP−5N(商品名)]を用いて、遅相軸に直交する方向に引っ張り、クラックが発生した時点の強度を計測して、引き裂き強度とした。
延伸装置内で長尺の延伸フィルムを実際に搬送し、破断、しわの発生の有無及びその程度を調べた。
延伸フィルムの幅方向に50mm間隔で、偏光顕微鏡[オリンパス社製、偏光顕微鏡BX51]を用いて、フィルムの面内遅相軸(フィルムの幅方向とのなす角度)を測定する。この測定を延伸フィルムの流れ方向に50mm間隔で、長さ1000mmに亘って行った。全測定結果を平均して配向角θの平均値とした。また、配向角の最大値と最小値の差を配向角θのバラツキとした。
自動複屈折計[王子計測機器(株)、KOBRA−21ADH]を用いて、波長590nmで、延伸フィルムの幅方向に50mm間隔で測定した。この測定を延伸フィルムの流れ方向に50mm間隔で、長さ1000mmに亘って行った。全測定結果を平均してNz係数とした。また、Nz係数の最大値と最小値の差をNz係数のバラツキとした。
自動複屈折計[王子計測機器(株)、KOBRA−21ADH]を用いて、波長590nmで、延伸フィルムの幅方向に50mm間隔で測定した。この測定を延伸フィルムの流れ方向に50mm間隔で、長さ1000mmに亘って行った。全測定結果を平均して面内方向リターデーションReの平均値とした。また、面内リターデーションReの最大値と最小値の差を面内リターデーションReのバラツキとした。
JIS K7361−1997に準拠して、ヘイズメーター[日本電色工業社製、NDH−300A]を用いて測定した。なお、測定点を変えて同様の測定を5回行い、その算術平均値をヘイズ値とした。
延伸フィルムからなる光学フィルムを偏光板に貼り合わせたものを、延伸フィルムの偏光板と反対側の面をガラス基板に接着し、−40℃〜+85℃の範囲で冷却・加熱を500回、繰り返し実施し、浮き、剥がれ、破損などの有無を調べた。
延伸フィルムからなる光学フィルムを偏光板に貼り合わせた光学素子を、市販のインプレーンスィッチング(IPS)方式の液晶表示装置の入射側の偏光板と置き換え、置き換えた液晶表示装置について、目視により画面を正面から見た場合と、斜め方向から見た場合とで、確認した。表1中において、「○」は良好、「△」はやや良好、「×」は不良を示す。
ゴム粒子を含むメタクリル樹脂[ガラス転移温度105℃、ビカット軟化温度103℃]からなるb1層、b2層、スチレン−無水マレイン酸共重合体[ノヴァケミカルジャパン(株)、ダイラークD332、ガラス転移温度130℃、ビカット軟化温度130℃、オリゴマー成分含有量3重量%]からなるa層を有する、b1層(70μm)−a層(40μm)−b2層(70μm)の未延伸の積層体cを共押出成形により得た。得られた未延伸の積層体cを、延伸温度134℃、延伸速度107%/分、MD(流れ方向)延伸倍率1.6倍、TD(幅方向)延伸倍率1.2倍で同時二軸延伸し、幅1200mm、厚さ(総厚)94μmの延伸フィルムを得た。このとき、表1中の対応する項目に「あり」と表示されているように、配向角プロファイルをフラットにすべく、引取張力制御、及び熱固定温度制御を実施した。
a層(A層)の割合、TD延伸倍率、未延伸の積層体の各層の厚みを、表1に示すように、実施例1と異ならせた以外は、実施例1と同様とした。機械強度、光学特性、耐久性、表示特性は良好であった。
a層(A層)の割合、延伸温度、MD延伸倍率、TD延伸倍率、未延伸の積層体の各層の厚さを、表1に示すように、実施例1と異ならせた以外は、実施例1と同様とした。機械強度の連続搬送性に断続的に部分破断が生じたが、光学特性、耐久性、表示特性は良好であった。
延伸手法を逐次二軸延伸(縦延伸の後に横延伸)に変更し、MD延伸倍率、TD延伸倍率を、表1に示すように、実施例1と異ならせた以外は、実施例1と同じとした。機械強度、耐久性は良好であったものの、光学特性、表示特性が劣化した。
延伸手法を縦一軸延伸に変更し、a層(A層)の割合、MD延伸倍率、未延伸の積層体の各層の厚さを、表1に示すように、実施例1と異ならせた以外は、実施例1と同じとした。機械強度の連続搬送性は問題がなかったものの引き裂き強度が劣化した。また、光学特性も劣化した。さらに、耐久性が不良「NG」となった。表示特性の評価は、耐久性がNGのため、実施しなかった。なお、表1中、「−」は評価を実施しなかったことを示す。
延伸手法を逐次二軸延伸(横延伸の後に縦延伸)に変更した以外は、実施例1と同じとした。機械強度の連続搬送性に断続的にシワが発生した。このため、引き裂き強度、耐久性、表示特性の評価は実施しなかった。表1中、「−」は評価を実施しなかったことを示す。
延伸手法を横一軸延伸に変更し、a層(A層)の割合、MD延伸倍率、TD延伸倍率、未延伸積層体の各層の厚さを、表1に示すように、実施例1と異ならせた以外は、実施例1と同じとした。機械強度の連続搬送性に全面破断が頻発した。このため、引き裂き強度、耐久性、表示特性の評価は実施しなかった。表1中、「−」は評価を実施しなかったことを示す。
表1中の対応する項目に「なし」と表示されているように、引取張力制御、及び熱固定温度制御を実施しなかった点を除いて、実施例1と同様にした。光学特性(特に、配向角θのバラツキ)が劣化しているとともに、表1中の対応する項目に「△」で表示したように、表示特性の正面から観察した結果がやや劣化した。
Claims (12)
- メタクリル樹脂1からなるB1層と、スチレン系樹脂からなるA層と、メタクリル樹脂2からなるB2層とが、この順に積層されるとともに、同時二軸延伸されてなる、幅が1000mmを超える長尺の延伸フィルムであり、
前記延伸フィルムに占めるA層の割合が45重量%以下であり、
少なくとも1000mmの幅方向に亘って、
該幅方向に対する配向角θの平均値が0°±1°、配向角θのバラツキが0.5°以下であり、
Nz係数の値が−3.5〜−0.5の範囲にある延伸フィルム。 - 前記A層の割合が35重量%以下である請求項1に記載の延伸フィルム。
- Nz係数の値のバラツキが0.2以下である請求項1又は2に記載の延伸フィルム。
- 面内方向のリターデーションReの平均値が80nm以下である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の延伸フィルム。
- 面内方向のリターデーションReのバラツキが3nm以下である請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の延伸フィルム。
- 前記B1層及び前記B2層の少なくとも一方の面内方向のリターデーションReが0nm以上15nm以下の範囲にある請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の延伸フィルム。
- 前記B1層の平均厚さと前記A層の平均厚さとの比(B1層/A層)が2/1〜1/1であり、前記B2層の平均厚さと前記A層の平均厚さとの比(A層/B2層)が1/1〜1/2である請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の延伸フィルム。
- ヘイズが1%を超え5%以下である請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の延伸フィルム。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の延伸フィルムを用いて製造された光学部品を備えたIPS方式の液晶表示装置。
- 溶融共押出により、メタクリル樹脂1からなるb1層と、スチレン系樹脂からなるa層と、メタクリル樹脂2からなるb2層とが、この順に積層されてなる未延伸の積層体cを得る工程と、
前記積層体cを、同時二軸延伸する工程とを含む請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の延伸フィルムの製造方法。 - 延伸温度が前記スチレン系樹脂のビカット軟化温度+20℃未満である請求項10に記載の延伸フィルムの製造方法。
- 長手方向の延伸倍率が幅方向の延伸倍率の1.0〜1.5倍である請求項10又は11に記載の延伸フィルムの製造方法。
