フルスケール製造工程を用いて、坪量約120lbs/3000ft2の低密度非塗工固体漂白硫酸塩(SBS)板紙を用意した。
パイロット製造工程を用いて、坪量約186.8lbs/3000ft2の低密度非塗工板紙を用意した。
上記実施例2における第1ベースコート工程を用いて、約2.7lbs/3000ft2のスターチを坪量約185lbs/3000ft 2 の非塗工板紙に塗工した。得られた塗工構造は、総坪量約187.7lbs/3000ft2、キャリパー厚さ約17.9points及びPPS10S平滑性約2.40micronsであった。
フルスケール製造工程を用いて、坪量約112lbs/3000ft2の低密度非塗工板紙を用意した。上記の方法により、塗工量約3.8lbs/3000ft2で実施例2のベースコートを塗工した。
実施例2に記載された工程を用いて、スターチスラリーを塗工量約3lbs/3000ft2で及びトップコートを塗工量約6lbs/3000ft2で塗工し、塗工板紙試料を調製した。得られた塗工構造は、坪量約141.8lbs/3000ft2、キャリパー厚さ約12.8points及びPPS10S平滑性約2.20micronsであった。
フルスケール製造工程を用いて、坪量約119lbs/3000ft2の低密度非塗工板紙を用意した。実施例2に記載された第1ベースコート形成及び工程を用いて、非塗工板紙上にスターチスラリーを塗工量約3lbs/3000ft2で塗工した。試料1及び2はトップコートなしで構成された。試料3及び4は、実施例2に記載されたトップコート形成を用いて、塗工量約8〜9lbs/3000ft2のトップコートを設けた。試料4については典型的な光沢カレンダー工程も行った。得られたデータは表1に示した。
Claims (15)
- 固体漂白硫酸塩(SBS)板紙基材と、
上記基材とコーティングとからなる塗工構造を形成するために、上記板紙基材に塗工されたコーティングとを含み、
上記塗工構造は、坪量、キャリパー厚さ及びパーカープリントサーフ平滑性を有し、
上記パーカープリントサーフ平滑性は、多くて3micronsであり、
上記坪量は、多くてY 2 g/m 2 であり、
上記Y 2 は、キャリパー厚さ(X)points(1point=25.4μm)と相関関係を有し、以下の式から求められることを特徴とする低密度板紙。

上記ベースコートは、上記トップコートと前記SBS板紙基材との間に位置することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。 - 前記コーティングは、さらに前記トップコートと前記ベースコートとの間に位置する中間層を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記コーティングは、スターチを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記コーティングは、粗粉末状カルシウムカーボネート及び高アスペクト比クレイを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記坪量は、多くてY 3 g/m 2 であり、
上記Y3は、以下の式から求められることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。

- 前記パーカープリントサーフ平滑性は、多くて1.5micronsであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記コーティングは、少なくとも1種類の顔料を含み、上記コーティング中の上記顔料は無機顔料であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記SBS板紙基材は、化学的膨張性薬剤を実質的に含まないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記SBS板紙基材は、少なくとも138g/m 2 (3000ft2につき85pounds)の坪量を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記SBS板紙基材は、単一層基材であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
- 前記SBS板紙基材は、化学パルプからなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低密度板紙。
